From just a quick skim through that vid, it's sounds a bit stiff and sterile. There's no meat to it

That's what she said.

When I say widdly diddly doo's (a term coined by Frownland),

Fascinating, I don't know that Frownland was Tina Sempec and wrote children books.

I think I've seen you mention that you play guitar, but I'm not sure, so I have no clue if you know what it feels like to play heartfelt solo's and technically brilliant passages like this:

To answer that properly I have to give a tldr story, my apologies in advance. So I was at Guitar Center testing out an EHX pedal, but also enjoyed playing the combination of a Squire guitar through a Fender amp. I played Anytime by Duane Eddy. I did some Luther Perkins/Bob Wootton stuff too. There were other guitar players there doing more advanced stuff. Instead of sticking with stuff I knew I struggled with song I didn't know. It was and EHX organ pedal so I trying to play organ riffs by ear. While I was sitting there wallowing in shame bordering on self loathing, a guy came over and told me I was pretty good, what I played was classy. I think he was impressed by the way Green Onions sounded through the EHX B9. He said he liked (what he called) "old fashion" guitar playing (ie Anytime), and that he doesn't hear it too often. He liked how I got Telecaster tones out of the Stratocaster I was playing.
So to answer your question I know both sides of the coin. I know the pain and humiliation of being a subpar guitar player playing in public. But I know what feels like playing my heart out of a song because I think it's the cat's pajamas ... and maybe be lucky enough to get a compliment.

He's got a catchers mitt for a face, but man that boy could play.

Cool story my friend.

Following up a bit... I have a lot of respect for players that don't feel the need to play fast, technical pieces and just play what feels right for the moment. Some of my favorite solo's and tunes are just simple sections and riffs, but very well placed and they convey what they're supposed to without the "Look what I can do!" mindset. They set aside ego and create a shared feeling without having to be better then everyone. They connect rather than set apart. It's a beautiful thing.

It seems Steve tore a tendon while making pizza last year. 2 hands are overrated... I guess.

I don't get it. He can play guitar with one hand, yet struggles to make a pizza with two hands!?

Not enough frets on a pizza. He got confused when he went to bend a dog whistle note on the 24th fret and it wasn't there. Tragic.
