Chunks of metal: power metal

Artist:
Sabaton
Album: Carolus Rex
Year: 2012
Genre: Power metal
Chronological position: Sixth album
Expectations before listening: Glory

Don't worry, I've NOT stopped doing this! Please stop crying, it's all right!

Yeah, it's been a while. Anyway, the trouble with this album is that there were two versions released at the same time: an English one, and a Swedish one. I chose to listen to the English one, but the Swedish one may be a thousand times better, without me knowing it.

This was an alright power metal album, but there are a couple of things that bug me. First is the general sound of the album: the production is too clean. Second, those goddamn synthesizers are WAY too prominent and annoy the hell out of me. Those are the two things that stop me from truly enjoying this album and considering giving it a higher rating.

3/5
