Why have I not posted in this thread more?? Heck why haven't I posted at all??
Lol. 2.5/5 for rocka Rolla. I now understand my love for that album actually, I'm considerably more a hard rock/blues rock guy. Still love that album to death though sad wings is not far behind. Agree with your load review, and your and justice review as well. Did you make the review for load yourself? If you did it's hilarious! Totally agree with the cover art description. XD I'd even say the cover art is more interesting than the music. |

PIXIES! Pixies is the name of an American alternative rock band that I'm sure all of you know about. However, only one week ago, I hadn't heard anything by them. Black Francis (who got his username from the band's frontman) and Gigantic Debaser (whose name consists of two Pixies song titles) told me to listen to them a good while ago, but as you should all know by now, I'm really slow at taking recommendations. But I listened to Surfer Rosa a few days ago, and I heard Doolittle yesterday. The latter was selected in an album club some friends and I are running (not the metal one, of course), which means that those friends also get to hear the Pixies. After having heard two of their albums, I've made up my mind about the band. I think the Pixies are... ...pretty great. Their music is raw, energetic and noisy, but has plenty of room for catchy pop hooks. I read somewhere that they were one of Nirvana's biggest influences, with their noise and stop-start dynamics. Some of their songs aren't all that noisy, though, for instance “Here Comes Your Man”, which apparently became pretty popular when it came out, because my mother knew it and told me it was an “old hit”. Cool.

Yup. Set your Spotify on "private session", turn off your last.fm scrobbling, sit down and listen to some Nickelback, and then bitch to your friends about how terrible it was having to sit through an entire Nickelback album. It's partly Trollheart's fault... Quote:
Of course, I'll have to listen to it, too. You know, because you have to take one for the team, and not be a hypocrite and all that... it's totally not because Nickelback is a badly concealed guilty pleasure of mine. Oh, well... Artist: Nickelback Album: Dark Horse Year: 2008 Genre: Hard rock/teen pop in disguise I laughed upon listening to the opening track, “Something in Your Mouth”: sexual lyrics + attempted inoffensiveness = hilarious. Here's an excerpt from the lyrics: “(You naughty thing) You're ripping up the dance floor honey (You naughty woman) You shake your ass around for everyone (You're such a mover) I love the way you dance with anybody (The way you swing) And tease them all by sucking on your thumb You're so much cooler when you never pull it out 'Cause you look so much cuter with something in your mouth” The album consists of two types of songs: up-tempo but boring hard rock tunes complete with lazy lyrics, and “ballads” sounding like covers of “California King Bed” sung by a person who used to be a heroin addict back in the early '90s (also with lazy lyrics). I'm sure that Nickelback has inspired some of the songs in Disney Channel TV movies and/or the Jonas Brothers (for once, I agree with Nickelback_rules). 1/5

We should totally do Nickelback Week together dude. With my writing skill, research, sense of humour and graphic skills and your ... um, help .... we could really rock this!
Seriously: what do you think? Joint venture? NO, there are NO drugs involved! Though we may need them by the time this is finished...

The Chad doth approve, and doth bless thine holy enterprise. May ye find the wisdom and courage to bring the light of Nickelback to the unwashed masses so that their lives may be also fulfill'ed. Bless you my son. May you go in Chad.
