As much as I don't like seeing Dio mixed with Black Sabbath, I have nothing bad to say about Dio as a vocalist. I think he's fantastic and I don't think we've had anyone else like him. I even have their On Stage double live album on vinyl and it is easily one of the greatest finds in my vinyl collection.

Speaking of cover songs, wait...was I talking about cover songs? Anyway, this one is just amazing. The original ain't all too bad either. I've never really been a humongous fan of ZZ Top, I just never really found the time to give them a chance.



I am of course talking about this cover version done by none other than...



I just love that it keeps the original sound while still being able to add the well known Sword album. This is a fine example of a cover done right.

Some songs I have really been enjoying lately. I've still been unable to get rid of this Riverside binge that i've been on.



This song is just everything I love about Steven Wilson. His emotionally captivating vocals and beautifully written lyrics are truly evident throughout this entire track. One of his best from his solo work.



This song is definitely up there with having one of my all time favorite intros of all time. I rarely even want to just listen to an intro to a song over and over again, but this one really just captivates me and reminds me a bit of 10,000 days from Tool, but only slightly.



I just love this entire song so much. Badass from start to finish.

I'm a little late to the month of March, but I will be doing a sort of daily "March Madness" sort of deal where I will post a song that appeals to me. Unfortunately, with the lack of time lately, I can't post much else, but hey, an entry is an entry, and I will add some commentary. So to start things off (better late than never)...



I was listening to a lot of Tool last night and when this song came on, I remembered the first time I heard it, and how many times I put it on repeat. The combination of both songs is just so perfect and really adds to how fantastic of an album this one is. As with any Tool song, the build up is so worth it.

So I just started listening to Swans. I have seen people talk about them numerous times but i've never actually sat down and gave them a proper listen. I'm in love.



I'm currently listening to The Seer and will try to give the others a listen in due time. Was giving Omniscience a listen as well earlier and really liked what I heard. This band may be a new favorite for me and I am hoping I cling onto them as I do with most new bands that I pick up on.

Continuing on with March Madness, I randomly got this song stuck in my head at work.



I've seen them perform this song live/in person. One of the most incredible and memorable concerts i've been to.

I gave Owl City's Ocean Eyes a listen last night. This song really stuck out out of all the other songs. It is so catchy and sounds amazing.



The intro is also just as fantastic.

Continuing with Owl City, I wanted to mention a song that was on Maybe I'm Dreaming that I had not heard in a few years, maybe. It's titled "The Saltwater Room"



I also just noticed that this song is on Ocean Eyes as well, that's kind of odd, but it's a great song so hell...why not. I couldn't believe I remember all the lyrics to this song after not hearing it for so long. Just hearing this song again may have awakened my love for Owl City again, because I went through a long phase of just listening to music by him and others like him, and just loved it.
