Well that was interesting, a lot more sad boy songs then I was expecting, but I'm not judging. You must have somehow picked up on Porcupine Tree being my favorite band for the longest time when I was a teen.

I thought it was all decent for the most part, what I really liked though was the DIIV song. That was really damn good, and I'll definitely check the rest of the album out soon. The Yo La Tengo song was good too of course, still need to check them out more. Thanks for the playlist!

Having a tenuous grasp on what the person likes makes for a better playlist I think. Gives them exposure to new **** as well as gives you an idea for how they react to said music that may or may not be outside their comfort zone.

I think it's good to have a very general idea of one's tastes, but not to the point where you know exactly what they'll like. It's nice hearing stuff that I wouldn't ordinarily go looking for like windsock said, but a good balance could be nice too.
