Default The RJ No-Nonsense Guide to the Beatles

So, I am beginning (and hopefully finishing) a project in this thread in which I will review and comment on virtually every studio recording by the Beatles.

You might say, the Beatles are not exactly a band whose discography is not well-known. This is true. But I don't think there's anything wrong with a fresh perspective.

This will not be a Beatles love-a-thon, but nor will it be a Beatles bash-a-thon. I see the Beatles as mortals, and find that too much of the literature based around them is praise-laden to the point of obsession and tends to lack in any sort of constructive criticism. On the other hand, those few works that seek to denounce the Beatles are scathing to the point of absurdity. Nevertheless, both sides have good points. I would like to explore and comment on the Beatles for what they really were, or at least get as close to that as possible.
