ReinXeed - Swedish Hitz Goes Metal

I did a very brief post about this here but I felt that I should do a brief review of it as well, just for the sake of it.

This album...it blows me away every time I hear it. A mixture of Abba, Ace of Base, and Roxette. You'd think...a power metal band doing covers of pop groups? I know, I thought the same thing, but boy was I impressed with how well it worked. If anything, Tommy Johansson does a fantastic job matching and overpowering the vocals that are well known to most of the songs that are being covered, songs like Money, Money, Money, and The Sign.

It's corny in a way obviously, as most power metal is, but I just found it amazing that a band such as this would make a whole album based on pop groups and still be able to add their special characteristics to it.
