Sooo...just finished listening to the Extra Life album. I was pleasantly surprised. I had a feeling as I downloaded it that I wouldn't like it, only because I know you like alot of post-rock and math-rock and the like, and that really isn't my bag. Of course, I had no idea what genre it was, I only downloaded it because you said to. I can be a follower that way sometimes. Anyhow...instrumentally it was highly enjoyable, especially the first few songs. The arrangements and the flow of the music was great. However, the vocals were not working so much, except on the last song, "Bled White". In fact, I would say that was my favorite song on the album, which is odd because if I remember correctly it was the only song on the album that was devoid of instrumentals. But the lyrics stuck with me. The first song was pretty fabulous too (speaking of the great instrumentals). Overall rating: *** (out of *****).

Edit: Ok, so I'm listening to the first song again right the very moment, and I'm digging the vocals alot more this time. This one's obviously a grower.
