^eh, I might like it someday, because I used to have extreme dislike for jazz, but now I see that it's actually a decent, fine genre with some enjoyable artists. I admit that I've changed quite a bit since I first came here, so I may change even more.

Maserati- Cities
The start was kind of boring but nice in a way because it was really relaxing. When the drums came in I started getting into it a little more. I also really liked the guitar riff that is being played at 3:20. And when the drums started playing the beat at 4:24 that's when I really started enjoying. This song has a weak start but it keeps getting better and better as it goes along. Very nice, catchy song. I could see myself listening to this. 7/10 The Violent Light Through Falling Shards Really, really cool song. The first two minutes were like Hip-Hop/Post-rock and kind of put me in a trance. Then the guitar at 1:58 broke it and I thought the part from there till 4:09 was really cool. When the police raid siren thing was added overtop of the music it got really intense and epic. I loved how it ended with the noises/sirens slowly taking over the beat. Great song. 9/10 Bahaus- Bela Lugosi's Dead I liked the start but I hated the vocals. This song didn't do anythin for me. 2.5/10 Lightning Bolt- Nation of Boar This song was crazy. I liked it but didn't love it. The fuzzy production was sweet and I liked the vocals alot. Not like anything I listen to but cool. The ending was really cool. 6/10 Tera Melos- Spooful of Slurry Very energetic and catchy math rock. 0:18- 0:32 reminded me of the music from Mario for some reason. The guys in this band are ****ing beasts at their instruments. 1:32-2:07 was really cool. Not a HUGE Math Rock fan so I can't really see myself listening to this on a regular basis but it was cool while it lasted. 6/10 Bontempi Latin- Holy **** I thought it was pretty cool and really catchy but it was WAY too repetitive for me. 4/10 My favourite song was by far The Violent Light Through the Falling shards. Makes me want to check that guy from Battles out. Last edited by DoctorSoft; 09-28-2010 at 08:34 AM. |

The Violent Light Through Falling Shards is by far my favorite of those. I'm saying this as a fan of Bauhaus and Lightning Bolt. But, damn, that Tyondai Braxton track is great. That reminds me, I have to get that album.

A few songs I've been digging recently:
Yeah, you bet. I'm doing another one. Also, if anyone's interested. I posted more tracks in the Tyondai Braxton thread. Last edited by Dayvan Cowboy; 10-08-2010 at 07:16 PM. |

OH MY GOD.
Today, I was randomly walking around the city for no reason, and I spotted a dude around my age wearing a BOC shirt. I completely flipped out. I was so happy, and he seemed like quite the nice dude, so I asked him what his favourite album was. Well, I asked him, and he said "Oh, this thing? it's my brother's tshirt. I don't like BOC very much. They're sooo boring." and I was infuriated. But me, being the polite, canadian person I am, asked him what kind of music he likes. he said "LINKIN PARK THREE DAYZ GRACE N BULLET FER MAI VALENTINE LOL.". I wanted to smack the dude. Why was he wearing the shirt in the first place? Well, it turns out wearing a band shirt because you like the shirt and not the band is actually quite common. My friend has several Pink Floyd shirts, but loathes the band. I see people all the time in Misfits shirts, in G'n'R shirts and even Metallica shirts who don't even like the band that adorns their chest. Well, I'd like to say that if anybody here does this, I will hunt you down and murder you. I hate it when people do this :\ |

It's annoying no doubt about it, but look at it this way, by buying merchandise from a band you like, they are at least supporting the band financially. Poseurs are pieces of shit don't get me wrong, but if that's how they choose to live then I'm not going to waste my breath or my effort.

I also cannot stand people wearing a band/football team/movie T shirt for the sake of looking cool and having no knowledge or liking of the product on the T shirt. Crass: There's No Authority But Yourself It's free

I bought a 30 Seconds to Mars bandana once without knowing that it was their merch. It had an oriental design and the letters that spelled out the band's name were written like asian characters. It deceived me. I was wearing it one day and somebody came up to me and said "Dude, 30 Seconds to Mars Rule!" I just kind of stared at her not knowing what in the world she was talking about.
But yeah, people who have no knowledge of the band they are advertising are pretty annoying, but I can relate. =\
