Post rammetal7's Music Blog

This is just a place for me to post whatever random musical thoughts come to mind, kinda like Sidewinder's blog, only you should be less optimistic for mine.

Note: This blog is sometimes like a stream of consciousness and thanks to whoever approved this journal.

Cool

Every once in while I sit back, chill and listen to relaxing music, well, mostly Reggae music to tell you the truth, classifications aside, here is my playlist for when I’m in a chill mood:

What does newer metal have to sound like to please the people! the complaints with new metal bands are mostly either this:
“arg! Why cant the new stuff sound like the old!”

or this:
“arg! its not original, Trivium rip off!

The band I’m featuring in this post has the latter complaint, that band is Black Tide, a Power Metal group comprised of young musicians from Miami,Florida.
They have that "Iron Maiden Throwback/Melodic Death Metal" feel.
here is my favorite track from them:

They made a pretty good Metallica cover

as well as a good Maiden cover!

here's 2 originals:

Random Notes: yes, I wanted you to have pirate imagery in your head when reading the example complaints. This band only has 1 album out. This band looks like they have alot of promise.

I have grown tired of "Smoke On the Water", I think its overrated, sure its got one of the most instantly recognizable riffs of all time but the song just sounds boring to me, but I still found myself to like this live version of the song:

Thumbs up

In 2011, it will be decided if Heavy Metal is a official religion or not, hearing about this news inspired me to put together this list of songs they should play in the church:

I am going to check out Iron Maiden's newest album "The Final Frontier" sooner or later but the one thing I wonder is if its one of those albums that sounds like the band's usual sound but is not anything too special...

I shall see, but I welcome your input on this album

I have disliked Smoke On The Water for 25 years so don't worry. One of the most boring Rock songs ever made.

We are generally spared John Mellencamp over here

Paranoid by Sabbath is usually overplayed over here- boring song.
