Daft Punk - Discovery
1. One more time
2. Aerodynamic
3. Digital love
4. Harder better faster stronger
5. Crescendolls
6. Nightvision
7. Superheroes
8. High life
9. Something about us
10. Voyager
11. Veridis quo
12. Short circuit
13. Face to face
14. Too long

I was introduced to Daft Punk by a friend when I was about 9 years old and had no taste in music whatsoever. However I loved this music she was playing (she was older) it made me just want to dance and dance and dance more! It was really indescribable at the time, I never really understood the whole "Music can make you feel good" thing. So I never bought the album, and never pleaded with my Mum to buy me it. That Christmas I randomly got this CD, I recoqnised it instantly (the music that is, not the cd cover) and I never stopped playing it for a good few weeks/a month. I had since forgotten all about it until I was randomly searching MB for a thread, and I seen Daft Punk. I have since been addicted to them again. It brings back wonderful memories for me, most dancing like a bloody idiot to the music. I really hope I never forget about the French duo again, they are amazing.

When I downloaded the album again I instantly remembered the more distinctive of the songs, eg, One More Time, Technologic, Harder Better Faster Stronger, Digital Love last but never least Aerodynamic. Discovery is a really well thought out album, all the songs are very similar, yet so different. It's a real solid album, full of good songs, usually on a n album, you get one or two shit songs, I can't think of one song which is particuarly shit, ofcourse there is better ones on the album, but it can't be excused that the majority of the songs are absolutely amazing. All round great album, thoroughly enjoyed it everytime I've listened. If you like Electronica, and completely new to the genre I suggest this album. It's really worth a listen.

edit: sorry for the poor insight, I couldn't be bothered writing it all out again really. It could have been a decent review if I put a wee bit more heart into it.
Daft Punk made me even more crazy at dancing than I was before. I turn them up really loud at parties even now and just get into a trance like I'm the only one there, it's incredible. On that music can make me do it.

That would be awesome if it's not too much hassle. Thanks

Train Wreck, Diversion, Master Breaker, Electronic Snare, City Rockers...all those surprised me with how good they sounded. Judgment Theme was good too.

Yep, if you wanted to recommend or send some of his others I'd check those out as well.
No probs, I'll send some your way over the weekend .

Yeah, Daft Punk makes dancing infectious. I remember the exact first time I had ever heard one of their songs, I danced like a bloomin' idiot

My two favourite badass French men.
(the only time a cigarette is just so.. so... god damn cool and hot )

DECLARING MY LOVE FOR, JUSTICE!

Well many of you don't understand/like my meer obsession with Justice (Thank you Satchmo! :D) But I hope to convey my feelings towards the music produced by these guys. I'm also sorry to the few people who actually read this badboy that I haven't posted in a while. Journals take motivation, and motivation is something I heavily lack, aswell as an education ;).

ALL IN THE BEGGINING:
Anyways, it all started with me hearing a friend blabbing about "how cool justice were blablabla" so I thought to myself, if Justice is so cool, then I'm going to get me a cd, so voila, Satchmo (And Antonio! I never forgot you!) sent me the link, and I was hoooked! I loved those raw electronic beats that constantly surrounded me, and I loved how the song sounded so repetitive, but when you listen carefully, each beat sequence is slightly different. The beats which are the same occur very few and far apart. Am no gonnae lie to yae, a wasn't that impressed with some at the beginning. Like I loooved Genesis, but I wasn't so fond of say my favourites like Tthhee Ppaarrttyy, and the Phantom's, it took me a little while to get used to the difference and adjust accordingly from some common Hardcore Scott Brown tune (I still love oor Scott at heart). I love how I can be listening to Cross, and I won't even realise when the song has changed, they are so flexible and flow excellently together, and excellently put together album. I personally think it's seksi. I'd say my favourite cheeky beats from the CD would be Phantom PtI & II (They go hand in hand really don't they?) Waters of Nazereth is SEXUAL! Tthhee Ppaarrttyy is none too shabby either! (LONGEST PARAGRAPH FROM ME EVER!!)

CURRENTLY:
I could tell you a few facts about Justice which Justify (hahaha!) my obsession with them. Like they have overall 444 plays since 22nd september on last.fm. (Will be significantly more after I finish this hot entry) When I go into my car the first thing I put on my iPod (I gots a AUX cable) is undoubtedly Justice. When I'm in a club and they come on (Seldom) I have to dance, especially if it's a favourite like Phantom, I just can't resist those raw twisting beats. Sometimes I often wonder why I listen to music without words, and that it's a little strange how I enjoy them so much. But I've came to realise that it isn't just lyrics that play a large part in a song, it's also the flow, feel and the atmosphere from it (Not to say that lyrics can't influence a good song when they certainly can) I just feel that I don't really need vocals and good lyrics. I just need a drink in hand (Preferably vodka pls, smirnoff at that), my dancing shoes ;)(Just joking, I could do it in my plimmys!) I prefer someone who also likes the music and apreciates it just as much as me to be in the vicinity. Writing this entry is almost making me eargasm with the amount of beats that have accompanied me throughout it. Now I'm extremely hyper and excitable because I'm vaguely reminded that they're playing at a scottish festival (Rockness) next June, yet I'm slightly saddened that none of my friends listen to the same shit as me and Rockness seems a distant dream to me, considering Justice don't play often here/never then I feel it's a must. So cross your fingers for me please? Anyways I feel as I'm running out of stuff to back me up I should give rec's and stuff...

JUST GET THE FUCKING LOT!!!!

Love, Kayleigh

Hehe well as you know im listening to them right now, as i recently found i had some of their stuff on my hard drive and this post reminded me of that. I'll let you know the verdict.

I know what you mean about vocals and lyrics, they have become alot less important to me over time too. Good vocals and good lyrics can of course play their part, but sometimes their part in a song or an album can be a relatively small one to play for me if the music is good enough.

I hope you get to go to Rockness!

BOYS NOIZE.

Well believe it or not, Boy Noize doesn't hold a massive place in my library. I have a few bits and bobs from them. No full CD's or anything. Anyways, on to a half hearted review boys!

Oi Oi Oi:
Well for Boys Noize noobs (Yeah, like I can talk). This is the name of one of their albums. I'm giving it my first thorough listen as we speak.

1. & Down
2. Lava Lava
3. The Battery
4. Oh!
5. Let's Buy Happiness
6. Arcade Robot
7. Deny Selected
8. Shine Shine
9. Vergiftet
10. Superfresh
11. Wu-Tang (Battery Pt.2)
12. Don't Believe The Hype
13. Frau

There is a bonus track but it isn't on the version that I'm listening to. Anyways, I'm giving Boys Noize more of a chance as the friend who recommended Deadmau5 and Justice to told me to give it a chance, so far, not so good if I'm honest. & Down was alright, Lava Lava gave me one ****ing sore headache.. it was very uncreative and used the most annoying clashing ****ty sounds ever if I'm honest, I just couldn't bear the track. it's full of sounds similar to white noise, which are giving me a headache as we speak, same with The Battery, thats a fucking pain in the arse man. I'm finding the album to be quite uncreative in sounds, very repetitive, in the worst way possible. Oh! is similar but much more bearable compared to the last two tracks, I'm actually enjoying this one. It has so much more character and much more likeable. The next track is MUCH better, I feel like it's a song that could be played to a wide audience, like people who arn't really that into Electronica, it's very likeable indeeeed, well for me that is! I dunno, I think theres a few tracks that you either really love, or really hate. If anyone says like marmite, they are dead. Anyways, I don't know what I really make of the album in whole. I mean I do really love some songs but some are really awful and I can't stand. What I like is some of the songs have a cheekyish attitude if you get me? It's hard to explain, but if you don't get it just ignore that sentence haha. I really love the second half of the album, waaaaay more than the first, the second half is awesome. I really love it. It's my style. I'm sure if anyone wants song recs or anything don't be afraid to ask.

I sorta know what you mean about that bolded part for this album.

I downloaded this to check it out a while ago, and I think 4 or 5 times I did put it on and give it an honest shot. I would really dig Down...cause that song is really agressive sounding, and has some really cool effects. After that though I would just kinda zone the rest of the album out. Kinda weird really when I think about it. I mean Down would probably be a 4.5 or 5 star song for me, but then I can't even recall how any of the other songs even sounded...kinda annoys me now what I think about this, cause I'd like to think I have a good attention span, and give everything a chance.

Based on what you said, maybe I shoulda payed more attention when the second half came around though. I might have put it on right now, but I've since deleted it it looks like. Maybe I'll give it another shot in the future. :|

Robert Miles
why am I not getting caps anymore? It makes me sad.

I'm going to review:
Robert Miles - Dreamland

1. Children
2. Fable
3. Fantasya
4. Landscapes
5. In My Dreams
6. Princess Of Dreams
7. In The Dawn
8. Red Zone

It's a very short CD, they do say "quality not quantity" and it couldn't be much more true in this case.

Children is an amazing song. Most people on this forum will be familiar with it. It takes me waaaay back to a time where I was only a little girl (awww) seriously it does. I remember when my brother and sister would get all their friends up to my house and play old skool trance tunes, one of which sticks out most was children. Just an all round great track to me, the intro is spectacular, it never ceases to make me want to go out and get a bit of clubbing into my schedule. sn't too electronica-ish. It appeals to a wide varied audience which is why I like it and probably why it became so popular, as it was appealing to most people. I feel like Miles as an electronica artist is great as he doesn't have too much of an electronic feel to his songs, they are mostly piano/keyboard (same difference) I like him because he's different, he made one of the most famous intro's in electronica history, it will always be memorable to me anyways. I'm sure that Miles himself created the original piano work on Children, don't quote me but I'm pretty certain. I feel like Children is a track I will never tire of, I'm pretty much sure it'll always have a place in my heart. The tracks on the cd are overall pretty similar sounds, my favourites are Children, Fable and Landscape. It i

Listen to Children here, and if you like that I definetly recomment downloading the album:

Another Miles classic not from the cd for you to listen to:
