I like the album - but I've had it for a while and have probably only listened to it 2-3x so maybe I don't like it that much.

Religious overtones? I had barely noticed it. I guess I thought their cross stuff was just an especially mild sacrilege. Are these guys actual Christians?

ive never had a religious vibe from their songs in the slightest, and i looked up most lyrics for my review. nothing sounded Christian-y. :O

I have to say that I cannot stand Justice and find them a poor mans Daft Punk. If you want to get into the party mood, then these do the trick for me:

I can't believe you're already at 3 pages. Maybe cause people are responding

As for religious overtones, yes. They're very much Christian. They call their stuff "electro Christian club" music. On their myspace they are first classified as "Christian" THEN "Club" . There's nothing wrong with that.. I'm just not a fan of religion. Although Baphomet does look pretty kickass.

well last night when i downloaded it, i pretty much hated it, it was predictable, cheesy, and is totally something i never expected from Tiesto.
i listened to the first 2 songs and turned it off it was that bad. something i never thought i would do with a Tiesto album. I was shell shocked from the cheesyness of it.

i gave it a listen today...
its a little better. not much though.

Kaleidoscope (the first song) starts off as really promising, then the intro drags and drags. then some voice that sounds like it should be on a car insurance advert starts kind of chanting some words, i can make out them saying "one, two, three, four" its all muffled and echo'y. With an electronic sound that sounds like a shitty version of "the good part" of adagio for strings. Some more crappy vocals, and the words "(cant make out first sentence) now we sing" as before its all muffled and dragged out which makes it hard to understand. I really hate this track. POOR EFFORT.

Escape me (2nd song) starts pretty quickly, its a fun, pop-ish tune with an electronic dance beat in the background. Its okay, but it reminds me of something Cascada would have made, except a little classyer and ofcourse better. One thing i like about the vocals is that they are loud clear and good lyrics. I like this song a wee bit, but i expected more from the man himself.

You are my diamond (im sure you have caught on to how this works now.) intros not bad, vocals start.. a bit cheesy "you are my diamond when im with you i will shine" yeah cheesy. this tracks on the same level as Escape me, not good, not bad. but i always thought Tiesto could do better.

I will be here, starts off really good, deep electronic bassline. its really quite promising, the vocalist is good. the lyrics are good. only thing that particuarily annoys me is the way the singer says "here" its really annoying. like really annoying it sounds like shes saying "heeyur". i sound really picky but ill post the video and you can see for yourself.

im coming back to edit this later, and do the rest of the songs. i dont have time anymore. enjoy my unfinished entry

I am strong is looking slightly up. With a soft intro, and spft vocals. Its beggining like a trademark Tiesto tune should. Its slow clear vocals, and a slow flowing beat going with the vocals, but the background beat is kinda fast compared to the rest, then once it gets right into it, it has this techno/electronic beat flowing through it with the vocals, its quite an enjoyable tune. not the best by far. but the best ive heard on this album. (im reviewing whilst listening btw... )

Here on earth, this song also starts off similar to I am strong, very similar, then after the intro.. a heavy basslines dropped into the song for a small moment. its awesome at the start, the middle isnt anything special, just repetitive and repetitive. it gets awful boring. the endings pretty poor. i come away from this song thinking, its a let down, even though it had a great starting, average middle. an ending can completely ruin a song. which is a shame for this one. but still it doesnt make me feel anything throughout the duration of it.

Always near, starts off with an electonic beat (ive noticed this album is very very electronic), which fades away into a chillout section, i like that part, its very peaceful, also i find the song is very short and leaves me feeling unsatisfied after it finishes, there is so much more that could be done to this tune. i feel almost as if its somehow unfinished, as that chillout section fades out and fades out, and just finishes. shitty ending.

Its not the things you say, just awful, its so awful. it pisses me off.

Fresh fruit, this may be the best intro of the full cd, although i dont like the fact after the intro a heavy beat is placed in. making it sound well its ruining the good part! and annoying clicky noises are put in, which are making me agitated. deep bassline, annoying clicky noise. song isnt doing to well isit? repetitive also. i thought this song was going to be good aswell. owell. i might have guessed it with the results from the rest of the songs.

Century, first of all. Tiesto and Calvin Harris? Cmon, whats this world coming to seriously? i like both artists, but Tiesto i would have thought would have been way out his league. im actually shocked by the featuring of a guest artist. god. anyways, the tunes good, sounds like a trademark Calvin Harris tune. very electronic/techno, lots of basslines and "fun" beats.

Know what? im totally giving up on the last 7 songs of the album, cos its actually depressing writing about someone who i thought was so great, when his latest creation, well im pretty sure i could have mixed up something better all by myself. sorry guys. look forward to my next, ill make it a good one.

OVERALL RATING.. so far
4/10

Jonsi from Sigur Ros is singing on Kaleidoscope? If so I'm kind of disappointed to hear it isn't very good. I might have to check out that album just because of the guests. Anyway, very nice journal Kayleigh. I really do need to try out more of this kind of music.

^ I did expect that ... I always felt Tiesto was overrated. All the other DJs are better than him, never understood all that hype over him.

But that was a Good review after all.
