I had never heard "Children" by Robert Miles before, kayleigh, but that is a pretty, contemplative song with lovely echoes near the beginning. Since I prefer songs that don't have a repetitive dance beat, I enjoyed the first half of this song. It sequesters the pulsing beat to the end and doesn't sound very dance-like up until that point, like you wrote.

His last song, though..."One and one"...maybe it was the woman's wavery, breathy voice or the persistent dance beat or the video, but this song was my least favorite of his. The image of all these people rising up toward the light, and the unexplained, meaningless symbols (the funny greenish chip in the container), and the overly-dramatic scenes of people being mean in trivial ways left me feeling the video was heavy-handed, not subtle at all.

I did like the lines "one and one still is one" and "I am half and you are half" to represent how we humans are united as humanity and should care for each other. The song encourages people to be kind and thoughtful about each other, not going out of their way to hurt others, and it shows people seeing the light, literally, that our lives are intertwined, like one being made of many individuals. That's a nice thought. And I did really like his glass/plastic see-though piano! :)

I love "Children" intro the best. It's immense. Probably my favourite intro. I'm not going to lie I didn't watch the video, I very rarely watch the video as I have a very short concentration span, and lose interest so easily. So I usually potter about when I'm supposed to be watching the video haha. I think I like One and One for its sentimental value, it was a massively popular tune when I was a wee lass! :D But I really appreciate your comment and your actual attention to my journal! :D <3

Lowland actually did a classical version of Children and it's gorgeous! But then the classical bits were added in to the "Inpetto vs Rüt Orchestral Rework" so that it's not exclusively classical and I loves it.

Trying to do something different here. Hope it's not too painful...

My latest favourite tv programme on television (don't think it's broadcasted in England.)

So it's a documentary about a REALLY rough area in Scotland, following 6 familys in the Onthank area.
(the picture says it all)

The guy in the bed is Marvin, a 30yr old ex herion addict and his dog "Bullet". The girl is his ex-girlfriend that he just got back together with called Dayna, Dayna is just out of prison battling a herion addict and is currently using Methadone. She's also out on an electronic tag.

All I can say is this show is comedy gold.

A young girl named Kendal is absolutely hilarious. I honestly recommend you all watch it. Only thing is they're Scottish, and have scottish accents, thick, very very slang ones. I can barely understand them at parts where they're out their box on drugs. But seriously. Check it out. Let me know how you find it. :D
