I read the first post ages ago, but for some reason never commented. Hopefully you do post that track when it's done. I didn't see it but that doesn't surprise me. As usual on X Factor night, my Facebook feed was brimming with pages and pages of pro-Factor chatter but quite beautifully, amongst of all that was a comment that read "John Lennon just shot himself...just to make sure he was dead." |

So I've been covering (i.e. butchering) a lot of songs lately, in an attempt to improve my amateur music skillz...
I forgot to add that my guitar is missing a string in this video so it's a bit blergh. Last edited by Astronomer; 12-01-2010 at 10:20 PM. |

That wasn't half bad. A few questions...
1. How are you getting the echo in the refrain? Pre-recording or is that a mic effect? 2. is this the sort of music you usually play?

2. Usually I don't sing, I normally just play keys and bass. I guess this is the kind of music that my band does, but a little more fuller (more instruments obviously) and more upbeat. But when I'm making music on my own I usually play a wide variety of music... such as lots of classical on piano and funk on bass. Thanks for reading/ watching |

You should consider a inexpensive USB mic. For instance I have the Blue Yeti which for everything but drums has incredible sound. Not to mention its got 4 mic types in it so its really great for any situation. There is also the Blue Snowball which is about 70 Usd opposed to 100 Uds but is most certainly worth it. What nicest part being its usb so you dont need an interface to plug it into a laptop or whatnot.
These are the links with a little describing each one. Amazon.com: Blue Microphones Snowball iCE Condenser Microphone, Cardioid: Musical Instruments Amazon.com: Blue Microphones Yeti USB Microphone: Musical Instruments

EDIT: I'm really interested in the second one you posted but none of those Amazon offers ship to Australia and I'm finding it hard to find any other places online that sell it for a decent price! Oh well.
