I'd have to disagree with you on Los Angelos, I found it to be a great album. I can see why it might turn some down, since it seems to focus on being a hazy, beat that builds a little bit then the song ends, which I sort of like about it. I actually like the trance-like repition.

for Kirby:

P.O.S - Never Better (2009)

Apparently most of this album was written while P.O.S was driving around with real live incessant drum loops playing and this album is certainly aggressive at times and he has a Punk background which lend the tracks a more upbeat, in your face approach. However the use of drums and the splashes of guitar certainly do not make this album a 2nd rate Hip Hop album with guitar riffs to hook the kids in. There is an almost total absence of riffs on this album and in fact some songs are quite sparse musically and that let's his expressive and honest flow shine. Another great hip hop album but with only a slight downside in that it can become tedious at times and the odd injection of warm bass lines would be welcome as in the excellent Goodbye.

However this would be perfect driving music as evidenced by this (those drums that kick in are stellar):

7.5/10

Listening to it right now. I like it, its really noisy. Sounds like improvised thrashy death metal music with alot of dissonant and noisy guitar with a guy screaming and making sounds into a mic with a ton of distortion. I love the noise, but I wish they would switch things up a little bit, it feels repetative.

My favorite part is the random bouts of "rapping". I think they may have been a bit high while recording this

That's why I wish Jackhammer would review it. I read somewhere that he likes metal, and this is like the death of metal.

Well listening to it i agree with that! Couldn't say i like it and i don't really want to listen to it again, nothing grabbed me. I do admire them though, ecclectic stuff.

I'm really starting to love this album. The bass work is great, it has this smooth feel to it that I can't get enough of. The guitar work has light, textured feel to it.

There is a band I want to compare these girls to that has a similar feel, but I can't remember the name but I can remember the history behind the band. Their father visited a gympsy, who said that his children were destined to become famous musicians. So when he had kids, he brought them instruments and had them take lessons, and they ended up producing this extremely unaccesable style that The Raincoats reminded me of.
