There are 32 songs on the White album and 15 to 20 of the songs are classics. Personally, I have similar feelings about the 'White Album' as I do Sgt Pepper. I think it's a good album but I genuinely can't understand the praise it gets. I'm in agreement with our crazy-haired friend, Numberninedream, in this. No amount of whittling down the track-listing would have created a "perfect" album as by this point in time there is no Beatles to make a "perfect" Beatles record.
