Looking for a deep dive podcast on one specific "weird" subject. True crime, conspiracy, aliens, whatever. If Last Podcast on the Left would do an episode about it but it's a whole podcast about that one thing then give it to me. I'm looking for something to give me that same fix that True Crime Bullsh** gives me.

My only encounter with the Last Podcast on the Left was when I went to the Stand a few years ago to see Nick Mullen's set, and one of the other comics on the night was the gigantic flabby guy from that show. Awful. 15 minutes of "guys, the orange president is BAD" by a sweaty bro desperate to be liked. Wouldn't say that he bombed exactly but the laughs he was getting were really polite and muted.

I never expected them to be good standups but they're perfect for podcasting.
|
It’s almost as if they’re not stand up comedians.
And Ben Kissel is a national treasure, get ****ed. Anyway I’m terms of deep dives: Pee Wee Gaskin Was Not My Friend Killer Psyche The Syndicate |

Tried getting into C*m Town again and it's just boring as ****. I can appreciate that I couldn't do that kind of stream of conscious riffing but it's just tedious rambling to me.

you gotta really like someone to just stop and listen to them talk about topics :o:
i dislike podcasts |
And just to have a positive post I recently rediscovered Know Your Enemy, a pinko commie bastard podcast that explores right wing intellectual perspectives from a leftist perspective with an academic lens rather than just smugly dunking on Marjorie Taylor Green or whatever. Pretty dry but super interesting and the hosts have good chemistry so it's not as dry as it should be.

OMG Michael Savage has a podcast I'm so excited! Rush Limbaugh had this entertaining carnival barker vibe but he was just talking about how black people should pull up their pants and it was annoying after a few minutes, but Michael Savage would be on air shouting at a gay caller to get AIDS and choke on a sausage or calling for the death of a 100 million muslims. He's like a hard right OH but always always off the rails and I loved him.
|
Hard to believe he was on MSNBC of all stations (I think this was before the Olbermann era). Repugnant as hell, but you're right, he certainly was entertaining.
|
His latest episode is about how homeless people are crackhead rapists and murderers who should be forcibly institutionalized and Gavin Newsome is specifically a Trotskyist. He hasn't lost his touch.

Was never aware and I'd forgotten about Michael Savage for years. Now I've remembered and am pumped.
|
I was listening to him at the dog pound sometimes tbh. He is an interesting character but i can only really take him in small doses.
|
I can take him in longer doses than boring ****s like Sean Hannity or Mark Levin or more talented boring ****s like Rush Limbaugh but an hour goes a long way. I still miss Coast to Coast AM being good. You're a show about aliens and the illuminati why do you keep trying to sell me supplements like Alex Jones? CTCAM was obviously the best radio show but I wish I could find old Bill Cooper episodes to compare the two.
|
If you're feeling depressed about the state of the world where right wing ****heads never face consequences for lying and undermining democracy you should give Knowledge Fight a shot. It's about Alex Jones and off and on for the past few months the hosts have been covering Alex's civil case for calling the Sandy Hook parents crisis actors, which he is losing badly, and it is heart warming hearing him being put through the ringer.

I spend most of my week listening to podcasts. It's my favorite past time while working from home.
Squadcast, Flagrant, Damn Internet You Scary, Here's the Thing, Dudes Behind the Foods and No Chaser |
I do audiobooks a lot, and I think I prefer podcasts. Primarily because the amount of books I've started and then hated...it's easier to take 40 minute bites.

Kept hearing commercials on other podcasts for some goofy exorcism audio drama and after a few weeks I got curious. Actually a fun show with ridiculous but satisfying demonic voice scenes but it's kinda heavy on Jesus. I didn't think too much about it until show's priest went on an extended digression about converting to Catholicism from atheism, so I Googled the show and it's god damn Catholic propaganda!!!
It's not an audio drama at all, the priest is a real priest who claims to do actual exorcisms who's been on fricking Charlie Kirk's show and the reporter is a writer for The Catholic Register. Mother****ing Dickolics! 10/10 would get fooled again. |
