Game of the Year 2018 Discussion
We are now in the near end of 2018 and let's be honest, this year has been ****ing amazing for video games. Many many great releases both AAA and indie games. I've had a blast playing through hours and hours of games and I'm excited to talk about them.
I already know what my Game of the Year is based on the games I have played this year, though this obviously doesn't cover every game released. Just the ones I've played. Eventually I'll get around to the ones I haven't played but for now, I'll keep it simple. So right now, my top 5 is as follows. And yes, order matters right now. 5. Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy 4. Fallout 76 3. God of War 2. Monster Hunter World 1. Marvel's Spider Man My #1 should not be a surprise to anybody as it's easily within the games that I've spend the most time playing this year. I know a top 5 seems small, but there were a lot of games released to console that I had already played prior to 2018. Dead Cells is a good example as I had it on PC when it was released early 2017. So it gets an honorable. Fallout 76 also makes this list simply because I'm currently having a blast playing it and it was one of my most looked forward to game once it was teased. So yeah. I'd say regardless of if I didn't play all the 2018 releases, the games I played this year including previous years has been amazing. |
The one you just lost .

I tried.

I've only played God of War and Far Cry 5 this year. I'm in the process of playing Red Dead as well, which will probably sweep most people's awards.
I think God of War got a bit overrated, but it still probably wins for me. Far Cry 5 was super disappointing. |
I'm not even sure I've played a 2018 game. Maybe one of those small Steam titles I bought was from this year.

I'm enjoying Red Dead Redemption 2 even though I'm always too busy to play and have maybe completed 2% of the game.
