Animals In Video Games

Cmon guys. You know those little creatures that we come to love in video games. Whether its the dogs from the Fable series, the calico from Monster Hunter. Let's talk about them. I love when you can have a pet companion in the game. Though I'll always prefer Dogmeat over anything else.

I voted no, but only because I don't like having an NPC following me around. Let me control the animal directly as the player character and I'm all in.

I loved the Chocobos that you could ride around on in Final Fantasy VII.

Chocobos were actually fun to race to get the upgrades in that game. They were in FFVI, too, but they didn't have an upgrade mechanism. Shadow's dog Interceptor in FFVI is also integral to the storyline, and if you don't make the right decision at the Floating Continent, then, well...

Maaaan, I used to play the shit out of FF7. I remember the game clock maxed out at 99 hours and 59 seconds. Then I came home from school one day and found out that my mom threw it away, along with a bunch of other video games, because they were "evil."
