Stanhope can't be touched! Louis C.K. is probably next on my list behind him. I miss Greg Giraldo and Mitch Hedberg.

Anthony Jeselnik is also pretty funny.

Has anyone else here ever tried doing stand-up comedy?

Oh Louis was amazing, until it turned out his pervy comedy was actually kinda just real life and he's just an abusive perv. I don't think his career is really gonna bounce back from that. :/

I mirror dread's comments about Stanhope, he seems like a walking cliche but I'm gonna try and move beyond that and watch some of his specials, if available.

Oh please, Louis C.K.'s still funny. I think he'll be able to bounce back tbh.

Well, never say never, Mel Gibson came back and everyone thought he was a gonner. But he wasn't a comedian. A little difficult to laugh at real life pervs :/

What a prude .

It's actually pretty easy to do it when they're really really funny and I trust Louis C.K. to be able to accomplish that given his past work. He's clearly a very self-aware person (well...99% of the time) and that lens of how people might interpret what he says in the light of his scandal might filter out some material that would have been hysterical in another light. I'd also be a bit surprised if his "comeback" special didn't have a big part of a brutally honest confessional/apology on the scandal too. A real case of wait and see, the backlash might come down hard when the comeback attempt happens. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a bit of grassroots campaigning so to speak to lead up to something like a comedy special.

From what I've read, Louis C.K. was in a car and asked a female if it was okay if he masturbated in front of her. She agreed, and he did his business.
