Moon made me teary.

There's a few I can't remember but off the top of my head some movies that made me cry hardest (not just a little welling up of tears, full on cascading down my cheeks) are the Elephant Man, Dancer in the Dark, and American History X.

I'm skeptical as to if there's anything that can top Dancer.

WWWP 08-02-2018 05:42 PM

Oriphiel 08-02-2018 05:47 PM

Lucha Underground

Mondo Bungle 08-02-2018 05:58 PM

there's also Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Mondo Bungle 08-02-2018 06:23 PM

the ending of this almost made me cry. It's not a sad movie (well I guess that part kinda is) I'm just a bitch. That said I love this movie a lot, wasn't really expecting to.

Mondo Bungle 08-06-2018 03:31 PM

is Titanic good

The Batlord 08-06-2018 05:30 PM

It has boobies.

MicShazam 08-07-2018 01:12 AM

Shame about the rest of the movie.

I watched the movie but it didn't go down well.

Key 08-07-2018 01:41 AM

Yeah I heard Leo Decaprio died while filming it.

MicShazam 08-07-2018 01:49 AM

Inside, at least.

grindy 08-07-2018 02:08 AM

My favourite side.

The Batlord 08-07-2018 02:56 AM

That was back when he was lame though so who cares.

Oslo, 31. August

Mondo Bungle 11-07-2018 02:17 PM

well I started it

Mondo Bungle 11-07-2018 02:21 PM

the last few I watched (Ikiru, All About Lily Chou Chou, Cranes are Flying) were all fantastic but failed to deliver. Ikiru came really close but they didn't milk the scene enough.

Mondo Bungle 11-07-2018 02:26 PM

reading subtitles over subtitles is kinda irritating though

MicShazam 11-07-2018 02:28 PM

Evil (original Norwegian title is "Ondskan". A better english translation in this case would have been "Cruelty".)

While it's not actually a sad movie per se, it will make you feel bad and might ruin your whole day. In a good way.

If you can find a better version or want to persevere, I do honestly think it's a great movie. But I'd understand if you gotta draw a line somewhere.

grindy 11-07-2018 02:35 PM

I cried when watching Tarkovsky's Mirror, but not sure why, it's not much of a tearjerker.

grindy 11-07-2018 02:39 PM

Oh and this short film, a great allegory for mental illness, did the job a few years ago.

The Batlord 11-07-2018 02:42 PM

If you feel like watching 8 seasons of Dexter with at least a 1/4 of it being meh to doggerel the last episode wrecked me like nothing else besides losing a pet.

Frownland 11-07-2018 03:16 PM

In honour of the trees that would be dismembered?

Mondo Bungle 11-09-2018 03:27 PM

I've found that any sort of parental themes hit me extra hard

Frownland 11-09-2018 03:50 PM

Have you seen Batman Returns?

MicShazam 11-09-2018 03:52 PM

Have you seen Return of the Jedi?

Mondo Bungle 11-09-2018 03:53 PM

I don't know about your underground indie films

BassoonPlatoon 12-25-2018 01:30 PM

Have you seen the tear jerker that is the Twilight films?

Damn we're going back to the ancient scrolls for this one.

BassoonPlatoon 12-25-2018 10:19 PM

Indeed. I found and consulted the original tablets where the Ten Commandments were written. Someone had added an 11th stating: Thou must cry at Twilight. That’s rather explicit.

The Batlord 12-26-2018 10:30 AM

Is there even anything sad in Twilight? I thought it was all choking women and abs.
