This was the first game I ever played, and it was also my first time with electronics at all. I remember pretty vividly not wanting to go to my aunt's for x-mas because we had gotten an NES earlier in the day, and I was engrossed. I mean, dropping down that pipe from level 1 into level 2 was surely some next-level shyt as far as I'm concerned. There is a 99 lives cheat that's always fun to pull of as well.

Im surprised how well they captured the momentum of movement of mario, there are later games on the nes that never achieved that or the thight controls this game had.
And yea tho the lvl designs werent that diverse some sections were pretty challenging. Whenever i ran into those 2 hammer bros jumping between blocks i was like "****!" And those big jumps you had to make while landing in a little piece of ground were difficult too
