[BONUS POLL] MB Video Game Classics: TLoZ: Ocarina of Time
 

To me, one of the greatest games to ever be made on the Nintendo 64, and it still holds up today. I did my very first playthrough of this game when I was like...16? And it was the best experience I'd ever had at that point. Everything from the music, to the story, to just the overall gameplay. All beautifully orchestrated into a pretty fantastic game for its time.

Easiest 5/5 I've given so far.

Ok this is where I never understood anything. Zelda games bore me to tears.

Evidently you've never played one then.

I've tried to play a few of them. Several tries even at the first one on Game Boy. Just never clicked with me at all.

It's just that whenever I name something I like, people roll their eyes and dismiss it, so it's easier to talk about what I don't like.

Haven't played the game in ages, so I only remember bits and pieces of it. It was aight. Vast and expansive, but it felt like a chore to do some tasks. Had a cheeky and annoying vibe with the fairy trying to tell me what to do all the time. I can see how it would be a classic for some, say, if the N64 was your first system, and since it had so few RPGs, but for me I can't get there with it. There were other games for the system that had a better fun-factor.

And the game series I'm probably the biggest fan of would be King of Fighters and Armored Core. Oh and Tenchu.

I've always loved the music from this game specifically. It's definitely on par with my favorite video game soundtracks which also includes Wind Waker's OST. Plus turning into adult Link is always badass.

I introduced Ocarina of Time to my kids using an emulator the other day. I got a bit misty eyed when I was in the other room and could hear them learning the songs to play. Took me back!

Certainly. Majora's Mask is up there as well.

That's why it's tough to compare the two when Majora's Mask goes a different route in some ways. It's still really good tho but I prefer OoT simply because there's no time constraint.
