Added the year so nobody gets confused.

Definitely one game I'll never forget. I loved the concept of just completing goals while living your dream as a skateboarder. An easy 5/5 for me.

Yo.

I was lazy last night so I left it for today. I have mixed feelings about Tony Hawk simply because as much fun as I had with it back in the day I know full well that I was a button masher who mastered nothing. It was hella fun button mashing but it's hard to say I played the game when my strategy to a certain extent was to let the game play me.

There was one Tony Hawks game that I played a lot, but it was some PS2 or original Xbox game. I've also played a ton of SSX 3 and Dark Summit (snowboard games), so I'm familiar enough with the style of gameplay. Tricks, jumps, grinding, halfpipes, etc.
Unlike Batty, I'm pretty sure I learned how to play properly. Still, I wasn't very good. |
I remembered how to do a handful of things consistently, but otherwise I'd learn another handful of tricks each session and then forget them by next time I played, and once I'd run out of tricks I knew how to do halfway through the level the button mashing began.
Oh yeah Tony Hawk is probably more memorable for me for the soundtrack. First time I ever heard Motorhead, Dead Kennedys, and apparently Suicidal Tendencies which I don't remember but they're there on the tracklisting. Plenty of other **** that was awesome to fake skate to as well. |
I remember this and Tony Hawk's Underground 2 very vividly. I've actually lost count of how many times I've played through them. I wasn't great but I wasn't terrible at them. Still really fun to play tho.

It must have been Tony Hawks Underground that I played back then. Fuzzy memory on that account.
