No mention of Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, or Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots?
Fucking blasphemy.

I remember playing a bit of of MSG1 as a kid and thinking it was cool but that was my entire experience until years later when my buddy loaned me MSG3 and I decided I was too lazy to get the hang of CQC.

I really wanted to like MGS1 back when I first played the demo, but despite how much I love stealth games, the stealth gameplay in these games always felt really awkward to me. So there's not even much for me there if I skip the cutscenes.

MGS 4 was the only one with one too many long cut scenes. Metal Gears my favorite video game series, I think Kojima's a genius. His cold war, nuclear holocaust, A.I conspiracy clone story lines are incredibly dense and well thought out. So fuck anyone who thinks CQC is not badass. And I seriously hope that Death Stranding gets a release date soon. Hopefully sometime this year but I'm not holding my breath on that.

Definitely dense storytelling, but genius is a label that gets thrown around too much. I don't think Kojima is a genius as much as he's just very idiosyncratic about things. |

Yeah I disagree. He is very idiosyncratic about certain things in all his games. But the level of storytelling he conjures up with for each Metal Gear has proven time and time again that he's one of the best writer/directors in any medium. And has been for awhile. He's a genius.
