It's Berserk. It's Dynasty Warriors. Of course it's amazing.

Samurai Warriors 2 was the highlight of all of the Warriors games and spinoffs. That's my honest opinion and if I ever yield on it, it will be only to avoid having a fight about it. It's the closest to perfect those games ever got. After that, things slowly went downhill.
|
Samurai Warriors 2 was definitely a highpoint for me.
|
I've played some of the later games a lot too. Gundam 3 and Orochi 3 most of all. Some of the games disappointed me a lot too. I honestly think DW8 is crap and DW7 wasn't much better. Or 6 for that matter. *sigh*

Duo with Deathscythe is my ****ing jam. But those lower level Gundams that aren't super stylized or powerful with just rifles and normal lightsabers are hella fun too. |

Something I liked a lot about Gundam 3 was how you could dash out of all sorts of moves in combat and just generally move around more than you can in other Warriors games during combat. I never saw anywhere close to all characters and mechs. Ridiculously much stuff to unlock. |
Hell yes. The dash is great. That's a surprisingly large part of the fun of the Gundam games. They're so fast-paced and twitchy but without being actually twitchy. You can just bail on a bad fight in a second and it makes playing on the hardest setting fun even if you can die in two seconds if you **** up the wrong fight. Not to mention you can just move between fields so quickly. Also the Gundam games have the best technicolored nonsense graphics. Never underestimate technicolored nonsense graphics in a Dynasty Warriors game. They're so arcade and the Gundam games give Marvel vs. Capcom a run for their money.

Polls for this week are now up:
The Oregon Trail [PC]: https://www.musicbanter.com/media/92...-trail-pc.html Starcraft II: https://www.musicbanter.com/media/92...rcraft-ii.html Fusion Frenzy: https://www.musicbanter.com/media/92...on-frenzy.html Horizon Zero Dawn: https://www.musicbanter.com/media/92...zero-dawn.html |
It doesn't really matter that much but it is a downright atrocity that Batman Arkham Aslyum/City are not represented on this list
|
Wait I didn't rec them? I feel sure I would've as they're two of the best games ever.
|
I will add them :]
|
Please the hell do.
|
They've been added.

Origins and Knight are both wonderful as well but I think they're distinctly below the first two |

But I come back to City more tbh just cause there's more stuff to do, and there's backtracking in both games but City's backtracking is fighting your way through peons. That is consistently fun. Every time I finish a sequence I have to clear the entire map. Just gotta. Although absolutely nothing in either game is as cool as the Botanical Gardens in Asylum and then the plants taking over the island. Poison Ivy rocks the Lovecraft. |
Haven't played City. Love Asylum.

I wouldn't put them on a top 5000.
|
Why would I trash my other monitor to enjoy it? I plan to play through the whole series. I'm almost done with Asylum.

^that's fine. But when you constantly **** on games that other people think are actually good, it becomes nearly impossible to have a conversation about the game with you.
|
I'm pretty sure I've more often mentioned that I haven't played the game in question. It's true for most of the games that come up in the video game classics threads. And can't people talk about things they disagree on? Seems to me that's partially the foundation of a forum.
Maybe I don't feel very interested in so many of the games talked about around these parts because they just don't go so deep. There's so many more interesting games out there. This feels to me like if a metal thread was all about Metallica, Maiden, Sabbath, etc. The stuff everybody knows. I wanna talk about the obscure games, but only Ori has played any of them. |
^I'm not trying to come off as some elitist but its usually more beneficial when we're talking about games that are classics to try to throw some praise toward it. And yes im aware i have poll options for the alternative, but going to games and saying "not good" with little to no reasoning makes for poor debate. The poll option were meant as a focal point of your opinion, not a literal word for word response. We've had conversations where we've been able to talk games respectfully but one to two word responses saying it sucks is annoying. That's what I'm getting at.

Idk. I'm just expressing an opinion. Woah. I should stop. Forgot this is mb.

But I'll drop it.

If you don't like a "classic" game then trash it as you would any game and don't worry about silly nonsense like being respectful.
