The only philosophical insight in Fight Club that you can't find in a community college dollar bin is its commentary on the dudebros that embrace it.

I'm not talking about the actual dialogue btw, which is clearly entry level teenage ranting and presumably meant to be so, I mean just the helpless feeling of modern expectations on men vs. base male instinct and how there's really no answer to the dichotomy. Consumerist culture is soulless and being an anti-social dudebro just makes you an *******. There's no greater meaning to the movie than that, which is why I said that its most meaningful aspect is just the author of the book basically venting. It's an intelligent vent.

Watch Bullhead for the meditation on what masculinity is, watch Fight Club because it's a fun movie with a cool vibe.

Hey, I don't claim it's a work of genius, just that it's at least intelligent. And I certainly don't watch it to understand myself and the world around me better.
