Frownland logic: "I'm a mod, so even though we have multiple threads involving this same topic, I can do it and not have it closed because I can't technically break the rules since I enforce them."

Frownland 07-18-2017 12:33 PM

Show me the duplicate thread and I'll merge this one into it.

Key 07-18-2017 12:34 PM

You must be retarded:

Frownland 07-18-2017 12:35 PM

Oh so by "duplicate," you actually meant "quite different." This thread lives to see another day.

Auschwitz: The Nazis and the Final Solution. Cause it's been a million years since I've seen any WWII documentaries, it was right there on Netflix, and I've got Nazis on the mind. And it's six one-hour episodes, so some good bang for your buck.

If you haven't already seen them, I recommend also Hitler: the Rise and Fall and The Nazis: A Warning from History. You should also watch the incomparable Robert Carlyle in Hitler: The Rise of Evil. It's a drama but well worth seeing.

I think the point is this thread is not restricted to only TV shows or films, but its scope encompasses anything you're watching, as he said in the OP: youtube videos, music DVDs, personal videos, phone footage etc.

I'll put them on my nonexistent list. ATM I'm watching Der Untergang/Downfall and reading Rudolf Höss' (Auschwitz's commandant) memoirs/confession that he wrote just before the Russians hanged him. So those'll keep me busy for the moment.

Unbelievably good movie. Chilling.

Tried watching Sense8 but decided to drop it. Watched Day of the Dead (1985) and quite enjoyed it. Also going to watch Stalker (1979) later tonight.

The Batlord 07-19-2017 06:38 PM

That feeling when you start watching Necessary Evil, a documentary on DC super villains, and it's narrated by Christopher Lee. Holy **** yes.

Mondo Bungle 07-19-2017 10:03 PM

I tried watching the newest season of House of Cards but I just couldn't finish it. I liked the whole convoluted soap opera thing at first but it's just too terrible now.

It feels nice watching a movie that isn't Saw

Zhanteimi 07-23-2017 08:44 PM

Just finished watching The Book of Eli. The world is fucked. The only Bible they have is the King James version.

Chiomara 07-24-2017 08:53 AM

I am totally not watching Anne of Green Gables tribute videos on youtube right now.

THAT SHOW WAS GREAT
Going to go watch the doll house episode on youtube now.

Frownland 07-25-2017 08:56 AM

Are You Afraid of the Dark? got me in trouble as a kid because I tested out putting out a fire with a bucket of water during a camping trip. Instead of making a new fire, my dad got pissed, called the whole thing off, and we went home.

And in case you were wondering like I was, water does steam like that when you put out a fire with a bucket of water.

Your dad sounds like a prissy twit.

Where do you think I get it from?

Well you had to find out somehow. Though I could have sworn that they put out the fire with the sand..? Or was that at the beginning with the magic spooky sand dust? Next time I'm in plug I'm just playing Are You Afraid of the Dark episodes.

I say again, watch the original BBC series.
Far superior.

The Stanford Prison Experiment. Starts off like oh another goddamn biopic but gets interesting once they lay the groundwork. I'll post more thoughts when I'm in the film thread.

Zhanteimi 07-27-2017 08:09 PM

I just watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I'm kinda fucked up by it right now.

Mondo Bungle 07-27-2017 08:34 PM

It's obviously gonna be good when a movie starts out by saying "this film should be played loud"

How can I resist the no wave slasher

Mondo Bungle 07-28-2017 08:50 PM
