Sometimes I watch Son Of Svengoolie on Saturdays and last weekend they showed this:

There's a small role with Clint Eastwood in it too.

Animal Crackers (1930, Victor Heerman)

Never really got the Marx Bros. But then I never sat down to watch a full length feature til now. Perhaps the extended scenarios brought out the best in their brand of goofiness.

The Breaking Point (1950, Michael Curtiz) WatchTCM

Just realized it's a Criterion title (not playing on their channel, though).

James Shapiro, author of Shakespeare in a Divided America, talks about (among other things) the modern day Julius Caesar in Central Park a few years ago where Caesar was a surrogate Trump. Though I was living/working not far from the infamous production I never went. Might have been more intriguing than I thought.

I spent the weekend watching all of these docuseries on Netfilx:

Filled in quite a few blanks in my understanding of it all.

Nice. I take it you've seen this classic British series on WWII (episode 1 below)

Grew up regarding this as one of the definitive tv series on the subject. The Ken Burns doc isn't bad but it doesn't have the authentic appeal (imo) of TWAW.

Not that I can recall. I'll have to check it out, thanks!
