Just finished the Catch-22 mini series on Hulu. Not bad.

How does it compare to the movie if you've seen that? Extremely hard book to put to film imo.

it seems like if I remember the movie was super hard to understand

I read the book when I was in high school but it wasn’t THAT confusing

For this miniseries it’s far less confusing than either

It’s just a series of incidents that I think all happened in the book but told in a straight forward linear way. It’s not like this crazy spiraling work of art like the novel but they did a good job pulling stories out of the book and making tight tv shows out of them

Ja the movie just does not translate at all. I put it mostly on the material, you either get something too subtle or overnarrated or you lose the humour entirely.

Cool to hear on the miniseries, I'll check it out.

Is it one of your all time fave books?

For a book a read so long ago I still remember a pretty lot. It must have made a hell of an impact.

It's top 20 tier and the funniest book I've ever read for sure. Really only challenged by Hitchhiker's Guide and Heller's other material for the comedy aspect.

Funniest books...

Huck Finn had me in stitches in some places.
