It's not a submarine, it's a self-propelled semi-submersible vessel. They can't fully submerge. If it went under water, the crew on one would have to abandon ship or they'd drown. No way the Coast Guard would fire on one and risk sinking it and losing that big $ drug cargo.

The smugglers usually scuttle the vessel when they see the Coast Guard coming. They must've been caught off-guard.

Spoiler for “spoiler”: nothing happens in the movie but that’s the point / I feel like critics don’t get there doesn’t have to be a clear message or resolution to a story / a black guy is stuck with a bunch of white dudes who drink and smoke weed and get uncomfortably weird and vaguely racist / the feeling is like oh ** this is going to go deliverance or something / the next night the black guy gets way too drunk and turns out the white guys are pretty cool / the end - I thought the writing was great because the twist was there was no twist - no climax - no violence just regular / ** the critics this film was tight tense and unique __________________ 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 Member of the Year & Journal of the Year Champion Behold the Writing of THE LEGEND: https://www.musicbanter.com/members-...p-lighter.html
