I was lucky enough to be able to see them about a half dozen times around the time of this BBC show.
My uncle was the manager for Jerry Goodman's band, The Flock, before Goodman later joined Mahavishnu.
Here's the full BBC concert if you're interested.

Can't imagine what it was like to see them live! Very interesting that your uncle managed Goodman's band, The Flock - Chicago boys. Thanks for posting the whole Mahavishnu concert - I'll definitely be watching. Cobham on that clear-shelled Fibes kit - yowza!

Watched that several times over the years - beautiful documentary with some amazing footage in pastoral Sweden (oh, to live that way!) and urban NYC. Communing with birds in the forest, Moki's textiles, and that fine Cherry jam with James "Blood" Ulmer and Rashied Ali.

I absolutely loved Snyder.

Tom Snyder: A Reconsideration

Tom interviewing an irritated and irritating John Lydon, and Keith Levene.

rostasi 03-08-2022 04:07 PM

Yeah, that's one of the famous ones and I didn't want to be obvious with that,
but the two of them made up years later when Snyder had him back on.
Some of the lesser known ones, but still incredible were the ones where he
didn't hold back in his admiration or disgust. I think it was an excellent time-slot
for the subjects he tackled.

Thanks for that link.
I'm glad they included that clip from the Cavett show.
He was another that I adored growing up. Still like him today!

Went here yesterday - best potato pierogi I've ever had. The chef is a wonderful person and an atmosphere of peace and humility pervades this place, despite the craziness in the world right now.

Yup, varenyky and borscht are regulars at this house and
back when I was youngster those and some meat-based
Ukrainian foods were regularly on the dinner table too
during those early days when I had to eat meat at home.
Back in piss-poor days, "Mrs. T's Pierogies" were what I
chose to subsist on.
