Burn! (1969, Pontecorvo) Director of Battle of Algiers takes on the story of a Portugese Banana Republic on an island in the Caribbean during the height of the sugar cane/slavery industry. Marlon Brando plays a British agent provocateur hired to incite a native insurrection. One of Brando's best (imo). |

Man on the Train (2011, Mary McGuckian) First time watching this remake of Patrice Lacombe's 2002 film. Retired poetry professor meets up with a gangster and decides to swap places with him. Not an action film. It's a reflection on the choices made in a life. Sutherland seems a bit too sinister for the part of the venerable elder but I might be selling him short. The main reason I'm not revisiting the original film is my lack of fluency with French (no English subs on the streamer). Que puis-je dire? |

He says cabal several times so definitely qpilled as ****. That said, I won't keep this information about the artist keep me from finding his music creative but ultimately dull.
