Often the first few episodes are at least somewhat bearable, but yes, it rapidly devolves into a mess of completely unnecessary sub-plots due to the 2938429342304 side characters. Wildly inconsistent writing. I desperately need a good horror show.

Are any of those on netflix? I've never seen a single one. You'd need to have a fairly high cheese threshold to bear the Korean shows; they are incredibly silly. (the romantic ones and historical dramas anyway)
