Midnight In Paris is totally amazing and made me not hate Owen Wilson for once, that alone is award worthy. Source Code definitelt deserved a nom in my opinion.

Melancholia is not just my favorite film for the year....it's one of my favorite films ever....i feel like 2011 was an ok year....certainly not a great year in film
Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close is such an incredibly moving book that just does not translate to screen well...still a great read some other great films in my humble opinion.... Carnage Drive Thor X-Men: First Class The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Shame The Thing Super 8 Captain America: The First Avenger Rise of the Planet of the Apes |

I don't like Thor as a Marvel character so I found that movie boring imo.
I also wasn't a fan of Captain America until Winter Soldier and Civil War rolled around.

85th Academy Awards
Argo Amour Beasts of the Southern Wild Django Unchained Les Misérables Life of Pi Lincoln Silver Linings Playbook Zero Dark Thirty I remember this year very well because I was pulling for Lincoln to win or Beasts of the Southern Wild. I feel like Argo was an upset. What do you guys think? Now that I look at this list, I sadly skipped over Life of Pi. I need to add that movie into my "to watch" list. Movies that came out in 2012 I will edit this post later on today which my favorite movies that came out that year.

My favorite movies of 2012. Bold are special.
The Act of Killing Amour Beasts of the Southern Wild Being Flynn The Broken Circle Breakdown Cabin in the Woods The Central Park Five Chronicle Compliance Cosmopolis Rust and Bone The Wall Django Unchained Dredd Ernest and Celestine Frances Ha Gimme the Loot Holy Motors The Imposter It's Such a Beautiful Day The Hunt Killing Them Softly Lawless Life of Pi Looper The Master Moonrise Kingdom Mud Museum Hours Pieta The Place Beyond the Pines Post Tenebras Lux Prometheus Resolution Searching for Sugar Man Silver Linings Playbook Simon Killer Skyfall Sleepwalk with Me Spring Breakers Stories We Tell Wish You Were Here Zero Dark Thirty Great Year. The true winner of best film is a tie between The Master and The Act of Killing. The actual winner should have been Life of Pi. It really is a wonderful film. If I were to give an obscure rec I would say track down The Broken Circle Breakdown. Be prepared though because it will rip your heart out and spit on it. |

I rewatched it and I think what really made me not like it is how they implemented the animation into cinematic form. I appreciate the concept, but it just didn't really look right to me in all honesty. I can get past that now and I appreciated it a lot more than I did before. It's on par with about 40-60% of their episodes. The best Simpsons episodes are a pretty high bar to raise and when I first saw the movie, I was going in with expectations that it would reach that high and was disappointed.
Consider me converted.
