I never actually played RE, but I used to sit and watch my brother play the first one. I remember it being pretty scary. It was nice to be able to go make a sandwich and come back to see that he made it through a rough part.

I didn't really get into any FPS type (3PS actually) games until I checked out Half Life. I was instantly addicted, but puttered out after Max Payne and haven't really had time to get into any others since.

I was the same way with my dad and older sisters. They watched a whole bunch of movies and played a mess of games that I either never tried for myself or didn't try until I was way older.

If you ever decide that you wanna play through the first one, Capcom actually released an HD remake not long ago. It's like twelve bucks on Steam.

I'm a big fan of shooters myself, third person more so than first. If you ever want to get back into them, I recommend Red Dead Redemption. It's glorious.
