Alright, if you're dumb enough to click on a thread titled "The Force Awakens...opinion" without having actually seen the movie, then you are a moron. Be warned, I give no ****s about dropping spoilers...

This movie was a total disappointment. At least the three prequels failed while still being entertaining at times. This movie had pretty much zero memorable moments, and just never got going. I didn't care about the new characters, I didn't care about what they were doing, I didn't even care when Han died (if that spoiled the ending of the movie for you then you deserve it). The action scenes weren't even that good for the most part.

Good or bad, Star Wars has at least always been larger than life, but this movie just felt so small and flat. I can't even summon the energy to care enough to hate this movie, all I feel is indifference.

It didn't blow me away but I thought it was really good. I thought Finn was a really cool character and Rey was serviceable enough. Harrison Ford was excellent every time he was on-screen. The villain was interesting enough although I wish he had kept his mask on for the climactic fights. The atmosphere and Star Wars feel (hard to explain) were all pretty much there for me which was the most important part imo. Definitely ranks below A New Hope and Empire but I think I liked it better than RotJ. Blows away the entire prequel trilogy which I'm sure most will agree with

I'd legitimately rather watch Phantom Menace over this movie. Probably Revenge of the Sith as well. Maybe not Attack of the Clones, but it's been so long since I've seen that ****show that I can't even remember how much I dislike it.

And no way in hell is it anywhere near as good as Return of the Jedi. Was there anything from The Force Awakens that you will remember as long as Jabba's palace and the rancor, or the final battle between Luke and Vader? I know a lot of people don't like the Ewoks, but they never bothered me.

I love how you spoil the **** out of the movie after all your nerdy whining about avoiding spoilers.

Spoiler for spoiler:
I at least think the girl who played Rey has some on-screen charisma but she's not a credible portrait of a threat. Like I used to play lotsa sports and there's a certain way athletic people move given their biomechanical structure and you could tell she's not very athletic which lends no credence to the notion that she's a fighter.

Kylo Ren...this dude is a joke of a villain. Disney traded somebody who can actually do choreographed fight scenes for what I guess is the face of the standard of beauty now??? Girls are into dudes with long hair now, right??

I also think Disney was going out of their way to cater to the politically-correct demographic. Oh and then all the artificially-injected humor. Like Han's quips weren't enough...we had to go and adda bunch more "funny" scenes which came across more cheap tricks than anything. I don't have a problem with girls but there were so many superfluous inclusions of female (and male) speaking parts that in no-way added to the film, like the pilot scenes...there was so much pilot chatter and cut scenes to marginal characters. Even the female captain of the storm troopers. I thought she was gonna be a bad @$$...nope!! NOTHING. Couple marginal speaking parts and back to obscurity. You can tell that they wanna appeal the gender-neutrality crowd...who I doubt even constitute a sliver of the pie chart of the demographic of the star wars fan base.

And the plot...the plot is what killed a lot of the series' magic. It's basically a rehash of New Hope, but without any charismatic actors (barring Rey from that statement). There was nothing new, absolutely nothing new except for a reimagined light saber design and new storm trooper uniforms. Everything else has already been seen...

The great acting performances of Ewan McGregor? GONE!! Not even replaced. The awesome choreography? What's that???

I happen to think it's mostly a flop tho. I hate how just watered down all the action has become. There was like no fight choreography whatsoever. Like watching kids go out to the park with sticks and playing pirates.

Disney and JJ Abrams better get it together or pack their bags. I'm not feelin' Marvel films since Disney took over either.

I honestly don't even know where to begin pointing the finger 'cause so many things were wrong with this.

I absolutely loved the climactic battle in the dark, snowy forest.

It was pretty decent, but absolutely nothing compared to Luke and Vader's duels in Cloud City and the second Death Star. Visually the scene was actually very nice, and I appreciated that the movie made a clearly self-conscious effort to minimize the use of CGI which made the lightsaber duels from the prequels all style and no substance. But the choreography was just bland.

I already explained my reasoning. This is a thread dedicated to talking about a movie, so making it spoiler-free would defeat the purpose of its very existence.

Spoiler for spoiler:
I thought the planet quake that saved Kylo was such a cheesy way to preserve his character for the sequel.

Kylo is the saddest excuse of a Sith ever...he got worked by a jedi the very first time they ever used a light saber.

That's a sign you needa retire...Kylo's career counselor in high school did him dirty if they told him to be a sith lord.

The imagery of the film is palatable but that's like a train wreck inna field of flowers...who notices the flowers besides people with attention deficit disorders??
