Captain Beefheart - Full Documentary https://youtu.be/dBa8bS_vZkM Frank Zappa - A day with Frank Zappa (1971) https://youtu.be/5aFRBbnF-ag There's also an excellent Zappa biography from the BBC, from 1993, which was on YouTube as a single upload but has been taken down. I could only find 3 of 4 parts of it (uploaded by a different person) that are still there. Well worth tracking down to see the entire show. |

The Edge is ridiculously out of place in that film. I wonder how much he paid them to be included.
It is a pretty great film, though. That opening scene inspired me to start making my own instruments.

I think he fit perfectly. You have the 70s rock god, the 80s ambient sound effect pioneer (well, not pioneer but he sure brought it to the masses), and then the new kid on the block fusing both Page and the Edge's stuff, along with old black bluesy roots music into a modern grunge/grind/pop formula.
Best scene in the movie was Jack and Dave's reaction when Page played the WLL intro. The looks on their faces are priceless.
