I haven't seen Thirst yet. That and Joint Security Area are the only Chan Wook Park films I haven't seen. I should get on that. I'm not big on vampire movies but I'll try to crack a top list. It may not be ten.
1. Only Lovers Left Alive - Total vibe film that has some of the best chemistry between two actors I've ever seen in Swinton and Hiddleston. 2. Let The Right One In - Beautiful film that caught me totally off guard when I first saw it. I should watch this again. It's been too long. 3. What We Do In The Shadows - I just saw this the other night and loved it. Perfect mockumentary with great lines and sight gags. "Don't you interrupt my dark bidding." "What are you bidding on?" "I'm bidding on a table." 4. From Dusk til Dawn - I used to watch this as a kid. Used to give me nightmares. Still a fun as f*ck movie to watch. 5. Nosferatu the Vampyre - Herzog directing Kinski as Nosferatu? Yeah, it's awesome. I'm biased though because I love anything Herzog does, especially with Kinski. 6. Nosferatu - Classic. Still creeps me out. Watched it recently. It holds up. 7. Stakeland - I'm a huge Jim Mickle fan. I'm sure this is a film ost of you haven't seen. You should see it. It's very well made and tense. 8. Spring - New film. I'm throwing this isn't the genre although it's a bit unique. I think that's it. Don't like The Lost Boys and haven't seen Interview with a Vampire in ages so I can't comment. I still feel I'm missing one or two good ones. |
