Weekend of September 11-13, 2015
1. The Perfect Guy - $25,888,154 - $25,888,154 - 1st Weekend Interesting action thriller that seems to have had a good weekend start. 2. The Visit - $25,427,560 - $25,427,560 - 2nd Weekend I was going to hate on this due to it being another M Night Shyamalan flick, but it actually has a 62% on Rotten Tomatoes, so I have to give the guy credit for at least making a decent movie again. Too bad it took him thirteen years to do so. 3. War Room - $7,772,485 - $39,560,812 - 3rd Weekend This is having drops similar to what last year's Christian hit God's Not Dead had. I wouldn't be surprised if it squeaks past $100 million. 4. A Walk In The Woods - $4,743,520 - $20,000,445 - 2nd Weekend Nothing much to say here, except for the fact that it's performing as expected for it's target audience. 5. Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation - $4,100,405 - $188,122,923 - 7th Weekend Damn, this thing never stops. $200 million is a lock at this point. 6. Straight Outta Compton - $3,923,895 - $155,546,495 - 5th Weekend Still impressive for a musical biopic. 7. No Escape - $2,881,786 - $24,158,721 - 3rd Weekend How does a film manage to stay in the Top 3 for three weekends and only gross $24 million so far? Must be that time of the year. 8. The Transporter Refueled - $2,824,147 - $13,467,643 - 2nd Weekend Like Hitman a few weeks back, another pointless reboot is getting what it deserves. Jason Statham must be laughing his ass off somewhere. 9. 90 Minutes In Heaven - $2,035,273 - $2,035,273 - 1st Weekend It looks as if the market for Christian films is finally getting more attention from Hollywood. 10. Un Gallo con Muchos Huevos - $2,024,134 - $6,791,486 - 2nd Weekend Random foreign animated film manages to cling to the Top 10 for another week. |

Weekend of September 18-20, 2015
1. Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials - $30,316,510 - $30,316,510 - 1st Weekend Along with Divergent, we have another Young Adult series adaptation trying to recreate the success of Potter, Twilight, and Hunger Games. Doesn't look like it's working. 2. Black Mass - $22,635,037 - $22,635,037 - 1st Weekend A modest hit for Depp, who can't seem to score a hit outside of Pirates or random Tim Burton flicks. 3. The Visit - $11,566,400 - $42,564,720 - 2nd Weekend Props to Shyamalan for creating something worthwhile again and having it stay on the charts. 4. The Perfect Guy - $9,751,801 - $41,462,273 - 2nd Weekend Very run of the mill box office performance for a film of this type. Not much else to say. 5. Everest - $7,222,035 - $7,222,035 - 1st Weekend I honestly wish we had more of these climbing movies, but judging from the performance of this one in particular, I can see why the industry is hesitant to fund more of them. 6. War Room - $6,215,991 - $49,054,653 - 4th Weekend The only explanation for this success has to be churches buying out entire showings. 7. A Walk In The Woods - $2,808,717 - $24,868,233 - 3rd Weekend Nothing to see here. 8. Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation - $2,213,360 - $191,695,570 - 8th Weekend Considering this series is the only thing keeping his career afloat, Tom Cruise must be jumping in delight that a sixth film is in the works. 9. Straight Outta Compton - $1,907,980 - $158,859,240 - 6th Weekend I know I haven't been particularly kind to this film on here, as pointed out by some in colorful language, but I still gotta give it props for hanging on this long. 10. Grandma - $1,501,101 - $3,694,820 - 5th Weekend Have no clue what this is about, but it did gain over 900 theaters, which would explain it's boost this late in it's run. |

Weekend of September 25-27, 2015
1. Hotel Transylvania - $48,464,322 - $48,464,322 - 1st Weekend Perhaps the only type of successful movie starring Adam Sandler. 2. The Intern - $17,728,313 - $17,728,313 - 1st Weekend Robert De Niro doesn't really impress me these days, but eh. Different strokes for different folks. 3. Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials - $14,271,777 - $51,957,349 - 2nd Weekend I think these numbers reflect the growing sentiment of people getting tired of every young adult book series receiving film adaptations, especially when it's a series not even as well known as Harry Potter or Twilight were during their prime. 4. Everest - $13,242,895 - $23,282,700 - 2nd Weekend This received a nice boost in theaters, and in return, a nice boost in profits. 5. Black Mass - $11,031,215 - $42,129,394 - 2nd Weekend Johnny Depp just isn't interesting to me when he isn't playing a weird character. 6. The Visit - $6,674,280 - $52,184,860 - 3rd Weekend I'm proud of M Night's little comeback here. Hopefully he uses this success to his advantage and creates something that rivals his early work. One can hope. 7. The Perfect Guy - $4,774,505 - $48,895,640 - 3rd Weekend Doing as expected. 8. War Room - $4,242,644 - $55,967,325 - 5th Weekend Christian films are quickly becoming a hot commodity in Hollywood. 9. The Green Inferno - $3,520,626 - $3,520,626 - 1st Weekend I've never watched Eli Roth's work, and judging from past responses to his films, they weren't particularly good. Looks like this might be another stinker on his hands, considering it's poor performance this weekend. 10. Sicario - $1,717,301 - $2,297,895 - 2nd Weekend Looks like a war film that's having limited release success. |

Weekend of October 2-4, 2015
1. The Martian - $54,308,575 - $54,308,575 - 1st Weekend Looks a lot like Gravity in terms of thematic content. I might have to check this one out. 2. Hotel Transylvania 2 - $33,192,596 - $90,734,361 - 2nd Weekend This had a pretty decent drop. The 3rd should already be in the works by now after this. 3. Sicario - $12,148,041 - $15,149,336 - 3rd Weekend Huge boost in theaters and profits. Good job. 4. The Intern - $11,685,064 - $36,588,956 - 2nd Weekend Eh. Not much to say here. Decent drop, but anything non-action with De Niro is an instant turn off for me. I don't know why, but it is. 5. Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials - $7,804,991 - $63,396,115 - 3rd Weekend Doing as expected. Nothing to write home about here. 6. Black Mass - $5,846,126 - $52,462,156 - 3rd Weekend I want Pirates 5 to come out already, and I don't even care that the fourth sucked ass. Depp needs to be interesting again. 7. Everest - $5,640,500 - $33,311,810 - 3rd Weekend Really nice drops for this. I'm excited to see where it ends up. 8. The Visit - $3,972,020 - $57,717,110 - 4th Weekend This will end up between $65 and $70 million by the end of it's run. Not bad for a guy who directed two ****-bombs in the last five years. 9. War Room - $2,824,067 - $60,568,680 - 6th Weekend Churchgoers sure have a lot of money. 10. The Perfect Guy - $2,412,366 - $52,627,556 - 4th Weekend On it's way out of the Top Ten. Not a bad run, though. |

October 9-11, 2015
1. The Martian - $37,005,266 - $108,715,595 - 2nd Weekend Matt Damon is having a good year, isn't he? 2. Hotel Transylvania - $20,420,392 - $116,942,033 - 3rd Weekend Adam Sandler must be satisfied with this keeping his career afloat for now. 3. Pan - $15,315,435 - $15,315,435 - 1st Weekend Somehow I'm not surprised that a remake of a worn out character flopped hard. And to add salt to that wound, this has a budget of $150 million. Ouch. 4. The Intern - $8,678,187 - $49,592,234 - 3rd Weekend Must be a slow weekend if this is still in the Top Five. 5. Sicario - $7,579,324 - $26,935,340 - 4th Weekend We've got a sleeper hit on our hands. 6. Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials - $5,371,941 - $70,765,331 - 4th Weekend At this rate, the third film will flop massively. 7. The Walk - $3,719,177 - $6,430,676 - 2nd Weekend Why is this making so little? It's not like it's in limited release anymore, and it actually looks good, not to mention that it's directed by Robert Zemeckis, who's a technical master. 8. Black Mass - $3,118,427 - $57,557,218 - 4th Weekend Depp must be padding his pockets right now. 9. Everest - $3,073,035 - $38,253,250 - 4th Weekend Another sleeper hit. 10. The Visit - $2,523,505 - $61,158,030 - 5th Weekend This had a great run, considering it's director. Props to him for getting back into the public eye. |

October 16-18th, 2015
1. Goosebumps - $23,618,556 - $23,618,556 - 1st Weekend It's been ten years since I've even thought about this series. Guess it's about time it has some relevance pumped into it again. 2. The Martian - $21,300,120 - $143,595,778 - 3rd Weekend Matt Damon's pocket must be overflowing with green right about now. 3. Bridge of Spies - $15,371,203 - $15,371,203 - 1st Weekend Spielberg's first directed film in nearly three years doesn't seem to be off to a good start. 4. Crimson Peak - $13,143,310 - $13,143,310 - 1st Weekend I had no idea Del Toro even had anything new coming out. 5. Hotel Transylvania 2 - $12,645,773 - $136,805,161 - 4th Weekend Animated vampires sure bring in the cash, don't they? 6. Pan - $5,863,128 - $25,741,311 - 2nd Weekend Perhaps Disney should come up with some new ideas next time. 7. The Intern - $5,447,297 - $58,773,279 - 4th Weekend Still chugging along. Nothing interesting to see here. 8. Sicario - $4,557,480 - $34,720,093 - 5th Weekend After watching Narcos on Netflix, I might have to check this out. 9. Woodlawn - $4,002,226 - $4,002,226 - 1st Weekend Looks like another Christian sports film along the lines of Facing The Giants. Not my thing, but more power to the people that like these films. 10. Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials - $2,856,842 - $75,518,812 - 5th Weekend Really poor run for a sequel. |

October 23-25, 2015
1. The Martian - $15,732,907 - $166,188,055 - 4th Weekend This year's Gravity is performing as expected. 2. Goosebumps - $15,525,901 - $43,738,043 - 2nd Weekend This adaptation is holding up well. 3. Bridge of Spies - $11,374,203 - $32,590,400 - 2nd Weekend Looks like Spielberg's days as a box office giant are largely over, but then again, political thrillers with Tom Hanks don't exactly ignite the box office like Indiana Jones does. 4. The Last Witch Hunter - $10,812,861 - $10,812,861 - 1st Weekend Eh, Vin Diesel is basically the more marketable version of Jason Statham, which is an aging action star playing in generic flicks. 5. Hotel Transylvania 2 - $8,883,348 - $148,175,889 - 5th Weekend Decent drop this weekend. 6. Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension - $8,070,493 - $8,070,493 - 1st Weekend The fact that this even exists is proof that Hollywood still has yet to learn their lesson about what happened to the Saw series. 7. Steve Jobs - $7,105,735 - $9,818,543 - 3rd Weekend This finally comes out of limited release, and it's not too shabby of an opening. 8. Crimson Peak - $5,666,525 - $22,557,300 - 2nd Weekend Del Toro's flick is hanging on. 9. The Intern - $3,787,039 - $64,634,921 - 5th Weekend How is this still going? 10. Sicario - $2,844,855 - $39,280,402 - 6th Weekend I better see this before it leaves theaters. |
