I don't want to put movie stuff in there. I want it to be about other stuff. I've been busy as sh*t and spend my off time getting super drunk. You guys don't want to hear about that. I'll put music stuff in there soon.

Weekend of August 21-23, 2015
1. Straight Outta Compton - $26,364,020 - $111,087,490 - 2nd Weekend I honestly just don't see the appeal in this. Hip Hop has never really been my thing, but still. How are this many people interested in a nearly thirty year old rap group? Just curious. 2. Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation - $11,451,746 - $157,514,785 - 4th Weekend Still trucking along nicely, but most likely won't be able to beat it's predecessor, Ghost Protocol. 3. Sinister 2 - $10,542,116 - $10,542,116 - 1st Weekend Don't know anything about this other than that it's some horror sequel to another horror movie I've never heard of. Eh. 4. Hitman: Agent 47 - $8,326,530 - $8,326,530 - 1st Weekend The previous adaptation did horribly at the box office, so I'm not sure why they felt the need to reboot this. Hollywood needs to accept the fact that video game adaptations just don't sell, especially when it's a game franchise that hasn't had any relevance in nearly a decade. 5. The Man From U.N.C.L.E - $7,317,374 - $26,534,214 - 2nd Weekend I've been hearing more good things about this, so it might just become the sleeper hit of the summer. 6. American Ultra - $5,454,284 - $5,454,284 - 1st Weekend Have no clue what this is about, and judging from it's poor debut, I'm guessing most Americans didn't, either. 7. The Gift - $4,282,360 - $31,035,523 - 3rd Weekend Not bad for a horror film. 8. Ant-Man - $4,055,465 - $164,491,835 - 6th Weekend Proof that Marvel isn't sinking anytime soon financially. 9. Minions - $3,828,720 - $320,084,045 - 7th Weekend On one hand, I'm not surprised that this is a hit with families, but on the other hand, I'm surprised it's doing almost as good as Despicable Me 2. 10. Fantastic Four - $3,733,632 - $49,708,994 - 3rd Weekend Almost out of the Top 10 on it's third weekend, and only $50 million? Hopefully the rights refer back to Marvel after this and they can set this franchise straight. But then again, it will be the second reboot right alongside Spider-Man, and who even cares at that point? |

As far as Compton goes, they're one of the biggest names of the genre and you don't necessarily have to be a fan of them to like the movie. I mean, Walk the Line is far better than most of Cash's music.
I'd be interested to see how Sinister 2 turned out, I thought that the original flubbed a little on the premise.

It had great atmosphere imo, but plot wise it didn't live up to its dads expectations.

The antagonist looking like a member of Slipknot, lame-ass ghost children and annoying jump scares killed my enjoyment after about half an hour.

Weekend of August 28 -30, 2015
1. Straight Outta Compton - $13,240,000 - $134,126,000 - 3rd Weekend Seriously, WTF? I know it barely has any competition for the top spot, but how has it not been dethroned at this point? 2. War Room - $11,000,000 - $11,000,000 - 1st Weekend From the quick research I did, this is one of those feel good Christian movies along the lines of Fireproof and Courageous. These are impressive numbers for such a film. 3. Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation - $8,300,000 - $170,387,000 - 5th Weekend This movie is clearly following the philosophy of the slow and steady winning the race. 4. No Escape - $8,288,000 - $10,349,000 - 1st Weekend Judging by the poster, this looks like some semi-serious action comedy with Owen Wilson in it. I'll gladly pass. 5. Sinister 2 - $4,650,000 - $18,512,000 - 2nd Weekend Not a bad drop. 6. The Man From U.N.C.L.E - $4,410,000 - $34,122,000 - 3rd Weekend This movie is starting to show percentage drops per weekend, so this will be a minor sleeper hit, at least. 7. Hitman: Agent 47 - $3,850,000 - $15,271,000 - 2nd Weekend Flopping as expected. I totally didn't see that coming. 8. The Gift - $3,134,000 - $35,960,000 - 4th Weekend This is having extremely small drops, which means it's creating a small fanbase. 9. Jurassic World - $3,120,000 - $643,088,000 - 12th Weekend This is having a small comeback thanks to it hitting IMAX theaters again. It needs all it can get at this point if it's going to beat Star Wars for #1 grossing film in 2015. 10. Ant-Man - $3,054,000 - $169,187,000 - 7th Weekend Marvel never flops, do they?
