Default Columbo

Yeah, it's often cheesy and not always particularly clever.
But Columbo is just such an awesome character, the formula and the psychological duels are incredibly entertaining and some of the murderers are played by great actors and are interesting characters. And in some cases the twists and endings are pretty effective.

Any other fans here?

I like me some Columbo. The endings are always particularly satisfying.

I like it too. I've seen the episode with Billy Connolly about three times at my Grandparents house over the years and it gets more satisfying each time. I enjoy making sarcastic comments and generally ribbing the show as it goes along.

I've quite an affinity for 70s televion. I'll explore some of the highest-rated episodes - thanks for the suggestion!

I didn't know who that is and had to google the episode. Don't really remember it, doesn't seem to be one of the better ones, but I'll have to watch it some time.

Hope you'll have fun.
I don't even like television series, but Columbo has a special place in my heart. Peter Falk is amazing.

Always thought Goren was an obvious homage to Columbo.

Haven't seen it, not really a series guy. But D'Onofrio is a great actor.
What I like about Columbo is how low key it is. Whenever I tried other and especially newer crime series it was all about being edgy and cool and shouting stuff at the suspects, which is all too ridiculous for me.

You should check it out. Bobby Goren is one of the greatest TV cops ever created IMO. And the dynamic with his partner Eames is fantastic.
