Just got back from The Revenant. Getting to experience and react to the film as part of an audience is really something. One of the things that I love about the theatre experience is the way that emotions are amplified and mutated. With The Revenant, you could feel the tension and horror ripple through the audience. When Tom Hardy called Leo's son a "little bitch", the guy behind me just said "you ****er". It wasn't like he was being obnoxious either, it just sort of exploded from his lips. Leaving the theater, everyone looked totally shell-shocked. They were all just staring at their feet and not talking. It was an incredible experience with an incredible film: one I won't forget. I intend to go at least a few more times.
