So does anyone have any tips -- basic or otherwise -- on dealing with Windows 10? Haven't used a Windows OS since XP, and I'm feeling culture shock. I think part of it is that after a year of using a Chromebook I'm no longer used to working with a desktop (Chromebooks don't actually have one, except as a wallpaper) but a lot of the new features are just hard to get used to. Now that I'm not baked I'm learning it better, but it's still weird.

So is Windows 10 actually a good OS that I just have to get used to, or a new level of Windows unintuitiveness?

The Chromebook has its issues, especially when using it for anything but bare bones surfing, but it's just so simple that a monkey could do it. I honestly think it's an attempt to appeal to the elderly: no worry about viruses, simple interface, uncomplicated features, easy to get started/fix when you need to wipe the system, etc (Which I imagine are the scariest aspects of computer usage for a generation who treats computers with distrust and fear.)

I actually think I'm going to keep using my Chromebook for general web surfing, and mainly use this for class **** and just to make sure I become familiar with the system... cause that's one of the things I'll need to have down for that class ****, obviously.

P.S. I also have the office/student version -- for classes -- which I haven't installed yet due to laziness, highness, and a desire to learn how to work the basic OS before moving on to something new. Is Office a pain in the ass for a n00b?

OMFG. Transferred an mp3 from my external hard drive to my new computer, and apparently Windows 10 doesn't want to recognize an accent or whatever it is in the filename (Satyricon - Hvite Krists Død) and so it just doesn't work. Wouldn't be so bad, but I can't rename, delete, or alter the file in any way, so it's just sitting there, being an *******.

**** this ****.

Hehe, hvite krists død .. Kanskje du kan skifte språk til norsk?

Go fellate a haddock, you bastard. I'm assuming that you just called me gay or something BTW.

I suggested you try (temporarily) changing the language to Norwegian (Bokmål). It might help with your file troubles.

How would I know how to change the language back if it's all in Norwegian?

You may only have to change keyboard language (?) and then you can have several languages installed at the same time and switch between them with a button on the taskbar. Otherwise, you could keep the language options window open while you fix your file so you don't have to navigate back to it in the menu.

And then not **** up, of course.

Not entirely sure this works, but it might.

not too familiar with windows 10 / never had this problem, but if tore's method didn't work out (it seems like a solid solution though):

you could try using the command prompt to delete the file. type del "filename" into the command prompt (you can try dragging and dropping the file instead of typing its location/name manually.) should be something like del "c:\users\batman\whateverr\cute selfie"

if that doesn't help, do you get an error message when trying to alter the file?

Since I upgraded to Windows 10, I can't scrobble from iTunes to Last.FM. The Last.FM scrobbler opens but when I click to open iTunes, nothing happens.

Gonna install the old iTunes and try that and reinstall the scrobbler but if that doesn't work... :(

Yeah just do it again. Seems to be working fine with me since I complained on here. Weird.
