Can't wait for 10, but I'll be using a test computer at work to upgrade from 7Pro just to feel it out. I'm not worried about getting used to a new UI and different features, so that part is more about testing for my users and our software at work than my own personal stuff.
My biggest personal computer concern is whether there will be issues running Sonar at home on 10. Sonar is weird enough on its native OS... Might spin up a VM at work and install Sonar just to test before committing. I definitely want to Windows 10 though.

Anybody tried it yet? Thoughts? Not sure if I'll end up doing it because I honestly don't have much of a problem with 8.

and i haven't read much about 10 but based on the reception of 8/8.1, i'm guessing this is sorta like when people didn't like vista so they modified it and repackaged it as 7... long story short i'm guessing your 4 year old comp would handle 10 just fine. but as for switching back if you don't like it, you could just image your HD with 7 on it before you make the switch. download symantec ghost... can't remember how i got it, you might need to torrent it. or their website might offer a free version that would work for what you need it for. |

I heard this is going to be the last version of Windows as we know it. Apparently the plan for the future after Windows 10 is that Microsoft wants to move to a subscription based service for their Windows OS.

I heard that too, but I think it's utter crap. I grabbed the reservation for Windows 10 (noticed the little flag after I read this thread). From what I saw it looks almost like a cross between 8 & 7 but alas it is what it is.

I'm going to wait a few months before downloading it, because I'm in the market for a new computer and I also hope they'll have ironed out some glitches by that time. We have a year to claim the download.

Eh there's always going to be glitches when a new OS rolls out. I seriously think though if they tried to be a pay subscription service that half their customer base is going to bounce and the other half is just going to bootleg it.
