changes coming to ranked next season, there’s a dev blog on the website but for a short run down

TLDR of these big changes:

* New matchmaking **based on position**, except at Master+
* **Two new tiers**, so people don't feel stuck in Bronze/Silver/Diamond as often.
* **4 divisions** within each tier (instead of 5)
* Dividing the season into **3 splits**
* Loading screen **border will change** during season
* Testing **MMR changes in normals** sometime beforehand

positional matchmaking is interesting but i wonder how practical it will actually be. does this mean a gold 3 one trick Yi will be matched against a silver 5 when he’s autofilled supp?

anyway should be an interesting concept. i like the idea of less divisions simply because promotional series are too frequent imo. if it was me scrap the 2/3 between each rank and make it so you only have the best 3/5 to go between divisions.
