It starts out great, with a lot of energy, but I do think it fumbles a little bit towards the next. Not enough to keep me from losing interest or forgetting details, but I had wished the show maintained its momentum. The only thing I think the show did completely wrong was give any reason or motivation as to why Vanessa was so quick to want to be with Fisk. She seemed like a pretty reasonable person and there was never any hints that she wanted him for his money, or secretly coveted the power he could provide, or was secretly a sociopath, or was even naive enough to believe that Fisk really wanted to make Hell's Kitchen a better place. They went out on a date, she was perturbed by the Russians entrance and the swift ending of the date, had to mull it over and decided that it was worth being with Fisk. I dunno, I would have liked a scene or something that would have given some kind of clue, like her alone in an awful apartment that betrays the kind of grace and dignity she exudes.
At one point she compares him to an artist when she's learning about his plans. I'd say that implies that she's not all there.

Perhaps there might be an Elektra cameo or something in the works for The Defenders. Maybe she is leading The Hand and that could lead to some contention between the group.
I highly doubt they're going to use such an emotionally involving storyline in a mini-series dedicated to four main characters.

Some women are extremely attracted to men with lots of power.

Watched eps 4, 5, and 6 last night. Vincent D'onofrio is so freaking perfect for that role. Dude's one of my fave actors of all time.

Oh, and I'll never be able to close a car door again without thinking about mother Russia.

Maybe you're right, but considering nobody knows if there will be a season 2 it could be a way to make that reference pay off. I kind of hope there is, like if they're going to do a phase 2 or whatever after The Defenders I think it would be cool to do Daredevil season 2, Heroes for Hire with Luke Cage and Iron Fist and we'll have to see how Jessica Jones does. I loved the Alias comic and the followup Pulse they did was a pretty okay given the limitations they were under, but once she was fully integrated into the 616 canon she really became a boring character. I remember when I saw a panel of her wearing hotpants and was just like nope, put the comic down and never bothered to finish it.

I really hope they do a Daughters of the Dragon series with Misty Knight and Colleen Wing though. I'd also really like to see a Moon Knight TV series.

Spoiler for Sticks:
I'm 8 episodes down. Do they eventually explain the significance of the kid in chains in the container that Sticks was so bent on killing.

And just how does the dude chase down those SUVs that've gotten a huge head start when he's on top of that building.

Scott Glenn. Another perfect casting choice.

Spoiler for Spoilers ?:
No they never do, but I suspect it will tie into the Iron Fist series. Basically that exists to build the intrigue into the mystical Asian elements of the show that Iron Fist will be going headfirst into, which again is kind of strange as they haven't even announced a showrunner or anything for it.

From what I hear, Netflix's servers almost went down there was so much demand for the show. With the critical acclaim the show is also getting, I doubt very much they're going to let the other three shows or the mini-series get in the way of more Daredevil.

Spoiler for Spoiler:
It's all part of Daredevil's power set. He used his enhanced hearing to tell where the SUV was without having to maintain line-of-sight (obviously), so he was able to cut across roofs as a short cut.

I wouldn't be surprised if it gets a second season due to the demand and the acclaim, but until it's under production I'm not going to get my hopes up. Between phase 3 movies, Agents of SHIELD, that spin off show, and the rest of the Netflix shows it's a lot to juggle. I'm certain we'll see DD show up in Jessica Jones though and maybe even Luke Cage.

Did Agents get better as the season progressed?

I watched the first 3 episodes and really disliked it. The story wasn't really progressing, it felt like Law and Order with Marvel characters.

'Daredevil' renewed for season 2, changing showrunners | EW.com

Yay, we'll get a second season of Daredevil next year.

And to answer DwnWthVwls, season 1 of Agents of SHIELD got better after Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It was kind of in a holding pattern until the big twist from that could be revealed. Season 2 has been significantly better but still suffers a little from a lack of identity, and a real feeling of connectivity or significance in the MCU. Daredevil could get away from that because the show was a very different tone and style from what we've seen thus far, but Agents of SHIELD is suppose to be at the heart of the MCU and at times it feels very different. I really hope they step up the budget next season as that could make a bit of a difference.

Agreed. I found myself fast forwarding through some of the straight dialogue scenes in the last 3 episodes. Way too talky and a bit preachy too.

Spoiler for Spoilers:
And they killed off way too many main characters in the last couple of episodes. Was sad to see Wesley go. He created the perfect even keeled balance to Fisk's extreme moods.

Quote:
I think Wilson Fisk is the best villain of the MCU so far as he's just charismatic enough to get behind and want to believe his lies, but just uncanny enough to be weary of. His explosive violent mood swings and imposing stature really make him something to be feared. Vincent D'Onofrio sells the hell out of the character and makes you actually kind of feel sorry for him in Episode 12. While all the actors and actresses did a phenomenal job, D'Onofrio really was the standout actor for the series.
While I agree for the most part he kind of started repeating himself towards the end. Childlike introspection and sadness and then BAM, all out mental rage. I love how the final scene has him staring at another white wall.
