SNES is the best, man. I'm shedding a manly tear just thinking of all the great memories.

Mario: Mario 3 for the NES is the greatest of all time. Revolutionary at the time. The leaf...the leaf.

Tecmo Super Bowl III: Great graphics for a football game. Sexiest kickoff meter/bar of all time. srs.

X-men : Children of the atom

I used to play this game for hours at my local arcade..

Few ppl played this game cause it was too fast, ppl now are used to Marvel Vs Capcom but Children of the Atom is the first game of the series that introduced that kinda art style & combat to the franchise..

The things you could do in that game were unseen at the time, i remember doing a combo on a kid with Cyclops and launching him into the air and finishing him with the super optic blast.

i don't even know how i did it, it was more luck than skill but regardless, it looked amazing.

Hows about some Tekken?

I've been corrupted by MvC, everything is just too slow to be fun anymore.

Different strokes for different folks, but I still think video games can be considered an artform.
Yeah I don't mean to undermine that video games are an artform, i was just noting the differences in different processes of art. I will disagree, however, on the interactive element. You are right that artists do (frequently) create their art in response to their listeners' responses to their previous work or the like, but this isn't as immediately shaping the art in the way that you see it shaped in live performances. Take, for instance, the album "Oracle" by Sunn O))). It's technically a live album, played for the cats that were making the casts of their equipment. Both sets of artists were crafting their sounds in accordance to their audience. We see this with the general world of music production, but it is only this immediate in live performance.

There is a production company and gallery in LA called iam8bit featuring collections of video game-themed artwork. They've published two art books which are well-worth checking out. A simple Google image search for their company's name will produce pages of results from their gallery.

Have a look.

It's all about Soul Caliber when it comes to combos and special moves
