I thought the whole point was to make Mario cry. No wonder I could never beat the game.

Was it annoying? Yes. But it also added a unique sense of tension to the game. Not only did you have to avoid getting hit like any other platformer, but if you were you then had to scramble like a madman to recover the little bastard.

Speaking of Great Snes games, what about Super metroid?

Though not visually impressive like DK or YS, metroid has a better immersive world and one of the best soundtracks on the Snes that along with the design of the world gave the game an eerie sci-fi ambience.

Not to mention that is the game that popularized Metroid mania games, it introduced a better way to use the map and exploring features of the games laying the blueprint for future Metroid games and even Castlevenia.

Super metroid is a rare Snes for me cause it's one of the few Snes game that sets the ambience of the game right away, just from the title screen vibe alone you know you're about to play an eerie Sci fi game

Idk how they even turned a 16 bit game into a legit Sci fi adventure where you could actually feel the isolation and eerines of your surroundings..

The Snes really perfected alot of of their Nes titles by the time they reached the 16 bit era.. Zelda, Metroid, Megaman, all the potential those characters had were unlocked on the Snes.

This in turn influenced programmers to step their game up further evolving the art of making videogames.

I'm just surprised your giant gorilla hands could even operate such a tiny controller.

The music of that game is amazing and so is the cape.
The artwork was really good too, it looked cuter and brighter than previous mario games.
