comedians
what stand up comedians do you like? i feel like some of you hipster types will come at me with some lenny bruce **** but really what stand up comedians actually make you laugh? i'll tell you the ones i like
louis ck hannibal burress jim norton gilbert gotfried bernie mac patrice oneal norm macdonald chris rock... to an extent back in the day not so much anymore tbh i like seinfeld the show and sometimes i might smirk at the act at the beginning of it but i never really watched him as a stand up. i have a feeling he wouldn't do it to me. i like larry david in curb your enthusiasm cause he can paint the picture so vividly and he's a funny old jew but i have the feeling on stage he's probably not great. i liked some of george carlin's old rants and ****, like i will watch that **** and be mildly amused and agree with everything he's saying but it won't make me laugh for the most part. i prefer pryor to carlin but truth be told i perfer most of those new guys to pryor. probably just because i relate to the context and the times of their jokes more. another comedian i sort of admire yet don't find that funny is bill hicks. he's smart and he'll rant and his rants will sometimes hit really good points, sometimes it will be some crazy conspiracy bull****. but either way it doesn't really make me laugh. and what little i've heard of lenny bruce it seems that he was like 50's edgy which is so far from edgy nowadays that i'd really have to try hard to find it funny. i'd probably see more insight in it like i do with carlin, pryor, etc. what about you guys? |

Mitch Hedburg and Louis CK are my two faves. Don't listen to or watch much these days, though. Zack Galifinakis and Marc Maron are both pretty funny and they have standup specials on Netflix, might check that out.

Mitch was hit or miss as his addiction started taking over. But even when he was off he slayed.
Robin Williams. May sound cliche but he really was the funniest ****er ever.

I honestly couldn't tell you. His shows are a series of one liners that don't really flow the way a lot of standup goes. I'ven't heard a bad set from him though, so I'll put this one up

The other day, I was making Hot Pockets, and I could not physically restrain myself from going, "HOT POCKEEEEET!" in a Jim Gaffigan voice. His thoughts on bacon are quite insightful as well.

Love that guy. Patton Oswalt is in the same vein.

Posted this before but it's worth a reboot.
